Planned Tube strike on 29th April (date of Watford game)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-27069391

The RMT are planning a 2 day strike that will affect the day we are due to play Watford. Can the game still go ahead if this happens, as this is the last week of the season, and I'm not sure we'd be allowed to play after the Blackpool game?

The A2 has been closed and / or coned down to a single lane after our last two Tuesday home fixtures and that hasn't been a consideration so why would the tube not running?

Where has this happened Len? The old man is coming up for the Watford game from Faversham so I'll let him know.
  • Been closed Coast bound, around the M25 jct and vehicles are being diverted onto M25 then up to Princess Rd and then back onto A2 either via DVH or back via M25 onto the slip road onto the A2 again.
  • Cheers Kev. Will let him know.

The diversion route I followed was onto the M25, down the M 20 and off at the A 229 (Bluebell Hill). There was a yellow sign at Bluebell hill saying end of diversion.
  • we're probably with Brentford the London club least effected by tube problems.

More than usual on a Tuesday night, though, with lots of people coming straight from work in London, using the tube to get to London Bridge.
  • What do they want now? A diamond ring and yearly passes to Legoland to go along with their 40k?
  • Bring it forward 24 hours
  • We have a national rail station very close

A fair few people use North Greenwich station to get to the game, and I see surprising number of supporters going north on the Northern Line after games. There's also the Watford fans, many of which would use the tube to get home.
  • ...or maybe they might play it on thursday?

I knew it has only a matter of time.

  • give the game to Watford - we wont need the points by then.

My Girlfriend lives in Gravesend (in Bexleyheath myself) and the A2 has been down to one lane from 8pm since about January (first London bound now Coast bound)...

the roadworks should have finished on Wednesday morning but they've been delayed as they were closing lanes at 8pm last night according to the missus... Hopefully though they'll be finished before Watford
  • I've just realised that I'm working away that week and will miss the match and that I've said to a Watford mate that I'll go to the match. Thanks RMT for bringing this date to my attention.......drat and double drat.
