I can't be alone in finding it interesting and instructive, yet this is a rare glimpse into what the professionals must now see as a matter of routine. It's almost as if as football fans we're seen as too thick to be interested or, perhaps, it's that the closed shop of professional football doesn't want supporters to have this kind of information because it might lead to awkward questions and undermine traditionalists.
The second point is a bit more controversial. In part based on what Poyet said in the last match day programme and part based on how I expect the team to try to play if Riga stays, I suspect that provided the current head coach remains we are more likely to keep Poyet than we might have been under Powell. Just my view for what it's worth. Maybe it's just wishful thinking.
Doesn't surprise me he's 6ft 2. When they line up before kick off he's as tall as Dervite. Time will tell if he becomes a box to box midfielder, scoring goals etc. There is a place in teams for a player who can sit in front of the back four, pick up the ball, dictate play etc. Don't forget that he's only 19 with less than 20 first team starts to his name. He's gonna be a top, top player. Just enjoy it while he's still here.

People need to look at themselves, some off his marks today are crazy how you can give him a 8 is beyond me, he had a average game on a average team performance.
I am sure people give him high marks thinking he will see it and wanna stay lol

If Poyet is going to some German team/Barcelona/World XI etc, he is going to need to learn he can pass forwards as well as back.
Think he is a cracking player, has fantastic composure, good control and a willing to battle, but he is NOT what some people here are declaring him as. I believe he is probably the level headed kind of youngster that understands that!

I never said everyone gave him a 8, i think there was one or two 7.5s as well
Poyet may be a great player one day. He has it in him perhaps. But he is not what we need right now. A defensive midfielder who plays too deep and does not pass forward severely limits the attacking threat at home. Probably what Riga asks for though.

And I didn't say you said 'everyone gave him 8' did I? There will always be some who over/undermark but that is evened out by the majority. It's all about opinions anyway. I see Chris Solly was nominated as MOM which I find odd but to each their own.

Thanks. Thats interesting. So that would presumably mean that Sky Sports have an agreement and/or arrangement which means they can make selected data public, but cannot do so systematically?
It may be that Sky only pay for the data that is relevant to their programmes and they probably give us everything they choose to buy.
I looked how you could get OPTA stats a while ago and they are a pure business to business operations, betting companies, media and sports organisations. Keeping it exclusive must keep the price up. I guess they would never make their stats available to us if it meant say Sky wouldn't buy stats where it has a commercial value. Thinking about it I bet OPTA's contracts promises it is not available to the public.
