I wonder

if the Crystal Palace fans are on Palace Life or whatever their forum is called moaning that Tony Pulis should be sacked for producing boring mid table Premiership football?

Palace are 12th in the table at present. When Curbishley had us at 12th it wasn't good enough.....

lol! Probably (Even with it being the first time they've survived a season in the Premier League)

Even if not now... Give them five / six years being in the Premier League (God what a horrible thought) and they probably will cos thats what the Stoke fans did with Pulis
  • Dunno about that Leonard but there's more than a few on here who were very happy to see Pulis appointed who are looking a bit silly now.

Was never going to be free flowing, attacking football with him but they knew what they were doing when they gave him the job. Sadly.

Well i can speak for my mate who is a die hard Palace fan(he hates all the ultra nonsense as much as us), he is of the view that is is great Pulis is keeping them up but he would hope for a more pro-active manager to replace him in the summer.

I did not want Curbs gone so don't misunderstand my point but i have never understood the attitude of some fans happy to watch your team win at any cost with little actual enjoyment from the game other then the thrill of win, i still dream of watching a Charlton team who really pass it about and try to play attractive football, plenty of signs that i could get that next season once the new regime has a full summer to do the business.

I think this "all Charlton fans were sick of mid table finishes under Curbishley" stuff is pretty inaccurate and gets trotted out by the media whenever they want to say "be careful what you wish for".

Something that always annoys me about the re-telling of this is that Curbs himself sparked the idea that we were better than mid table when he stopped us going in to the inter-toto. He said at the time that we wouldn't play in a 'small-time' European competition (which was good enough for the likes of Juventus and PSG) because we were on the fringes of qualifying for the 'big' european competitions...

Agree with this maybe a few thought we should be looking at the next level, but without a huge investment this was never going to happen, we came close the year Parker left and maybe that season led to some people having higher expectations than were realistic. For me not being in a relegation scrap (say 12-15th) would be a good season and anything else a bonus....and I do feel that was what the majority thought as well, it's just the odd few who sometimes shout (or bother calling 606 etc) who get heard the most and this distaughts the true picture.....most were more then happy with a mid-table finish.

not a fair comparison even if its a valid point. Pulis has improved them within a few months. You are comparing that to something over a number of years, that's just stupid.
