Thanks Golf. In answer to your question, no, because the team just above the relegation spots have an E# that guarantees safety. The teams below this have an E# that condemns them to relegation. This means you count your wins and their losses if you are in 21st, but count your losses and their wins if you are in 22nd. I know it's a bit contrived, but this is still a work in progress! Essentially, in theory, the teams in 21st and 22nd place will normally have the same E#. The only time this doesn't happen is when a team in the relegation places has enough games in hand on a team in 21st or above to overhaul them if both got maximum points. This changes the dynamic of "who are the three teams with the lowest possible points haul?" on which the calculations are based. This was the case a few weeks ago when we were bottom, yet had enough games in hand to potentially be well clear of relegation.
