  • Let's hunt them down. And let's not leave it until that last match.
  • Leeds are in freefall
Burney will be promoted by then
Brighton will have nothing to play for
Wigan secured play off spot & will have one eye on the play offs

With teams with nothing to play for, they can either take their foot off the gas and let their standards drop OR they can play with complete freedom and no tension. We've got a few games coming up against such teams as well

Thats a tough run-in. For a team that has only won twice in last 20 odd, that is very tough. Dont think they will win more than 1 game out of those (prob us !- but lets hope its us because we are already safe).
Unlikely Burnley will have been promoted by then - more than likely this could be the game that sends them up, so they will have a huge following there being very local too.
Key game for me out of that lot is the next one v Derby, if they lose that one, then i can see us being above them by the time they have played Burnley.
Always thought they would be the team to 'do a Wolves'
  • Football is inherently unpredictable, but that's a nightmare run-in by any standards. To put the situation in perspective, we need just one point from our two games in hand on Blackpool, both of which are at home, to set up a situation where if we then match them in the remaining six matches, a win at Bloomfield Road on May 3rd will see us finish above them.

I certainly don't want us to need a win in that fixture and, of course, there is every chance we'd fail to do so in any event, but I'd suggest that Blackpool are in at least as much trouble as we are and that if there is nothing riding on our final fixture it will be because we are already safe by then not because we're already down.
  • It looks a hard run in but i've long since given up predicting who will beat who. Chatting to a couple of millwall mates last week and they'd given it up after taking 1 point from Leeds, Blackburn and Birmingham, they couldn't see them getting another win.......then they go and win at Forest.

Birmingham looked in danger a couple of weeks ago, then they go and win at Millwall and Doncaster.

There probably weren't too many people who thought we'd win at Forest and Leeds. Or Yeovil get points at Wigan and Leicester.

We just need to ensure we pick up at least 4 points from Yeovil and Barnsley.
  • Stopped trying to second guess results in the coupon busting Championship! All we can do is concentrate on our performance in the remaining games and see what's what as we drive to the seaside on the bank holiday Saturday in early May.
