Hamer kicks it out to Cousins who just has to run forward and have a shot. Instead, he turns around and passes it backwards to Perucci before they score. Why can't we just have a shot?

Incorrect, he passes it to Reza who could shoot and dosen't he passed it to Petrucci who could shoot and doesn't and we then concede possession, you get what you deserve if you don't shoot you can't win simple.
The real crime was Petrucci not having the balls just to take the man down at the centre circle to take a yellow. Pathetic.
100% this. I was disgusted. I had time to turn to my mate and say, "This guy's got to take one for the team, don't you think?" but despite having an age to do something about it, he did nothing.
I'm usually fairly objective about Charlton, and rarely get super-angry. But Church, Petrucci and Harriott really wound me up today. I accept Harriott was trying (but was utterly atrocious), but Church... Jesus. The offside thing, when he couldn't be bothered to jog back and allow us our best opening of the game... furious.
I'm with CafcSteve on this. Jordan escaped the offside trap but instead of looking to take it on himself, he slowed up and played a meaningless ball inside. The chance to score turned into a break from which THEY got the win, not us. But why was Jordan out there anyway? Because he was, yet again, shunted wide. He is as much a right winger as Parker was at Chelsea. I'm not arguing that Petrucci shouldn't have buried their player (the ref wouldn't have booked him bearing in mind the rest of his pathetic display) but the error came earlier.
Jordan cousins by nature is a defender - or at best a defensive midfielder. I believe he played most of his formative years either at right back or centre half...........so a bit unfair to blame him for not going forward with it. I thought we were a bit unlucky as both Reza & Pettrucci were looking to have a shot but were crowded out.
i got a free crossbars thing today with a free program. there is an interview in it with AA that states we set out to not concede in the first 70 and then nick a winner.
what a radically different game plan to the former manager

And that is why Cousins should be playing RB and Wilson RM. We'd have more balance and an attacking right side midfielder.

Bit harsh IMO. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but on this occasion there were plenty of other opportunities to get a block in
Hinsight has nothing to do with it, it was bloody obvious what was required.
Poyet had the same few weeks ago but wasn't lambasted. Petrucci is clearly rusty and actually looked decent - just unfortunately got dispossessed and didn't have the pace
He wouldn't have been put into that position though if Cousins would have had actually had a shot.
We would not have been in that position if Cousins had been playing in his central midfield position and Puttricci had been playing in his right wing position.
The blokes subs and then the positions they then played in was bizarre.

Petrucci was always two yards behind when chasing him, so could not have "taken one for the team" as he couldn't have fouled him. Personally, I thought Cousins had a fine game (and was completely overshadowing goal-scorer Danny Williams) until the round of substitutions which pushed him wider. Do I blame Riga - no. Just the way it was... That said, Jordan does need to sort out his shooting boots!
