What state is the pitch going to be in with all the rain falling today? On Saturday they watered it so heavily that there was standing water on some of the mud patches and then they quickly had to fork it to try to get rid of it. It didn't stop them watering it again at half time! Hence all the players slipping and sliding.
I was more than surprised when they put the sprays on at half time. By the way, what ever happened to the four blokes with a fork, and their mate with a small roller ?

In all the euphoria after the win last night, a huge thanks and well done should go to Paddy Powell and his team for getting the pitch into a playable condition through to the end of the season. Sure, the dome helped enormously but it must have been touch and go since about Christmas and I think the ground staff have done a brilliant job in terrible circumstances. Congrats and thanks Paddy & co. You have earned that nice new pitch for next season!

It's cause Spongefoot has been running around soaking up all the water.
And that explains why he got selected today, it's to make sure the pitch is in top nick for the Yeovil game.
My son played an under 11s game on a better pitch this morning.
