A View From Eastlands

I sat in the Upper Tier, about 5 rows from the back and the view was terrific.

Once again though, the stadium is like any other "Identikit Stadia" and i was amazed that they fit 41,000 in there. If i was more drunk and someone told me that i was in the Madjeski then i really wouldnt have been surprised other than the 7 hour train journey.

As for the City fans, unbelievably quiet, really quite shocked. As i mentioned on another thread, the beer sold in "2 pint glasses" was great, stops you queuing and/or holding two pints.

Ingenious.

  • Was talking to a local on the walk back to my car and he was bemoaning the lack of atmosphere at the new stadium, says it was much much better when they were at Maine Road. He did congratulate us on our support, said from where he was sounded like we out-sung the home support all game.
  • sounded great on ther tv lads and lasses. excellent noise imo
  • I got a taxi from Piccadilly Station to the ground. The cabbie "I had that Stuart Pearce in my cab", said that the ground lacked atmosphere. Closer to hand my 8 year old lad said he liked the Valley much more because he was closer to the pitch and a better atmosphere. I was surprised at the lack of noise coming from the "Massives" and I was sat three seats away from them.
  • The loudest I heard from them was

'who's that faggot in the pink'

Original, witty and extremely insulting all at the same time.

    .... oh.... wait.
