Was very critical of our pitch last week, so it was interesting that Sam Vokes was forced off injured when he got his studs caught in the pitch yesterday.
the thing with Leicester, it hasn't been about money, yeh they splashed under sven but since nigel pearson has come in and they've had a few play off failures, they've notably said they want to scale back their spending and they've got a few academy players playing, and they've assembled a team of premiership academy players and some of their own. Its a well built team thats been done over time, not just money thrown at it back in august.
Sour grapes indeed. A bit like when the brentford boss rosler said it about us when we had mostly frees and loans.
Took on Leicester with a very weakened team yesterday (no Marney, Trippier, Ings and lost Vokes thru injury) and his side were outclassed by a very good (and expensively assembled and well managed) side .. He has worked minor miracles with a tiny squad but if they get to the premier, as they probably will, Dyche's braves will suffer the same fate as the Coyle outfit of a few seasons back .. without major investment his side will come straight back down, albeit a lot better off financially .. and who will invest in a small club in a small town on the doorstep of Liverpool and Manchester ?
Certainly sounded a bit like sour grapes from him yesterday but has done a remarkable job at Burnley. Has to be manager of the year in the Championship if they go up.
