...and their finishing positions over the last nine seasons of Championship football:

2012/13: Ipswich scored 48 goals and finished 14th
2011/12: Coventry scored 41 goals and finished 23rd
2010/11: Scunthorpe scored 43 goals and finished 24th
2009/10: Swansea scored 40 goals and finished 7th
2008/09: QPR & Doncaster both scored 42 goals and finished 11th & 14th respectively
2007/08: Leicester scored 42 goals and finished 22nd
2006/07: Leeds scored 46 goals and finished 24th
2005/06: Millwall scored 35 goals and finished 23rd
2004/05: Stoke scored 36 goals and finished 12th


-Of those 10 teams above, only half were relegated.
-Swansea finished as high as 7th in 2010. Sheffield Wednesday scored nine more (49) and were relegated.
-We need to score 10 more goals from 11 games to avoid becoming the Championship's lowest scorers in the last ten years.

Take from the above what you like, it shows to me that being the lowest scorers doesn't necessarily mean relegation (although it does look like a stretch for promotion... bugger).

Another way of looking at it... What were their Goals Against records like... i.e. you look @ Leeds / Leicester and Scunthorpe scoring loads but I bet they had to in games because they couldnt keep them out (and doesnt matter if you win 1-0 or 3-2 etc... its still three points)
