Is an inability to score going to prove our undoing?

Do we have the firepower to avoid relegation? Obviously doesn't help if we don't create many chances but when was the last time we scored so few goals by this time in the season. I think hope we avoid relegation but it is worrying and has to put extra pressure on our defense.

  • Interesting article today in voice of the valley about teams who score less goals than number of games. Sadly it seems to normally end in relegation.
  • Now scored six less than the next lowest scorers, Barnsley.
  • No firepower at all and pushing Obika out on the left wing certainly doesn't help!

Worse when you take Kerms and Stephens goals out as neither still with us.
We don't have a recognised goal creator in midfield and our strikers aren't do it all themselves types.

    Got it in one
  • Couldn't make today's game due to sickness, were Church and Green as shocking as they were on Tuesday night?
  • That's a pretty silly question.
  • We are the lowest scorers outside of the premier league, it will be a miracle if they stay up.

    No, far worse

RP , I try to be fair and I can't slate them if I didn't go , I just wondered how long it would take Jose to suss out the 'weaknesses' in the team, please bring in a half decent right mid Roland or we are stuffed, Danny keeps being given chance after chance but doesn't shine.

Simon, well he keeps getting chance after chance and keeps missing, how much time do you give someone?

  • Yes, totally. Yeovil are scoring goals. They have a better chance of staying up. Yeovil have scored more goals in the last 2 fixtures this week than Charlton have scored championship goals since the turn of the year.

It is a glaring weakness that RD has absolutely failed to address since taking over the club.
  • For what it's worth remember Yeovil are still below us and we have games in hand on them and they need to visit The (fortress) Valley. Relegation is now between bottom four teams and we are still well placed.

Do I think we will stay up ? No.
  • The reality is that we have got 5 days of the emergency loan window left to get in atleast 1 better attacking player than what we have or we will stay the lowest scorers and go down.
  • Luckily results went for us today but fear our lack of goalscorer a will be our undoing and ultimately cost us with relegation.
Gets embarassing watching us when no one will even have a shot!!!!
  • Yes. Green + Church starting = league one.

Pull your bloody finger out RD, or you will be the proud owner of a football lemon.
  • Having no attacking outlet will kill us for two reasons. Firstly, most obviously and importantly we won't/can't score enough goals to save us, secondly not having a strong offensive line means every time the ball is cleared it will come straight back to us meaning most games will have a ridiculous amount of pressure which we will struggle to cope with without that outlet.
  • It's the lack of creativity that's killing us, though it has to be said that Burnley have a very good defence. Church's attempt was dismal, but it's not as if he missed several gilt edged chances
  • EIEIEIO down the football league we go!

    Just saying.
