Today on here...

Absolutely absorbing reading.

Lots to agree with, lots to disagree with. Some pulling at the heart strings, others highlight the clear divide in our support.

Virtually all wrote with passion though.

No idea how many thousands of comments posted today, but thanks to all those who have provided honest opinions and some fascinating reading.

  • Agree. I was having a productive day at work until about 12, when I checked my phone and saw the text from my brother. Been on here pretty much since then.
  • Certainly a strange day - a win tomorrow will make it stranger - watch this space...
  • Very surreal day, didn't get any work done. Great job CL again for being a place for solace, anger, opinion, disbelief and togetherness.
  • I couldn't actually get on to the site all day as a member. I think it was overloaded. Only now in the evening in California have I managed to log in.

I did fuck all at work today. Couldn't concentrate.

Only got worse when some lad in the office told me stop getting so attached by Charlton and it's only sacking a manager . It's football.

    Fuck off

    Edit. Apologies for the language.

I still feel shell shocked. I feel like I've been dumped by that bird from Weird Science.

I actually feel like crying a bit.
  • I feel gutted for Powelly but relieved for me. I really don't think I can be arsed with it all again.
How close is Ebbsfleet FC to the station?
  • Massive fecking news just got back from picking my tickets up and the pot holes are being filled in !!!!! i kid you not --------Rolands bandwagon must have gone down one and he has given an order to get it sorted.

If you're serious it's ten minutes or less from either Swanscombe, Northfleet or Ebbsfleet stations!

Stand up straight that man. We don't expect that sort of behaviour on the Sidcup Line.

Chest out, shoulders back and stomach in.

    It's only pain!
  • Seeing pictures of Chris in his Charlton kit is simply painful.

It's like being with a bird you still love, but it's just not working. You wish it had worked out and still look back at all the good times with a tear in your eye.

There is NO ONE I would have loved to have been a success as our manager as Chris.
  • is that a wouldya imaginary thought for Mehmet dan 8)

Had some good debates with people yesterday and wrote some passionate words.

If I'm honest I've never felt so compelled to want to do something about a manager/players departure. Venting my frustration directly to the club helped. Still think the club has much to do to explain this decision. I'm not going tonight as I can't comprehend where this club is heading and I don't want Roland to get anything more from me.

Yet again this forum provides a great foundation to do these things with like minded addicks.

This is a very good site which I spend more and more time on. I mainly use this site, as I did the old official one on our web page to rant, but I enjoy reading all comments. I was particularly pleased to see huge thanks & appreciation to CP (the least he deserves). But also that not everybody will turn their backs on the club and people will still continue to renew their season tickets/support. We need it now more than ever.

Couldn't do it today AFKA. I think this is the lowest I've been as a Charlton supporter, at least since that message. Feels like we lost our club. What's plain to see is that the interests of Charlton Athletic mean nothing to our owner, it's all about Standard Liege and somehow, somehow, we've become little more than a feeder club. Very sad, and unlike when Curbs resigned I can't see a positive future at all. :-( Emotional.

You're totally right! I've felt really down since I heard yesterday morning. It's as though that special something has gone. I'm expecting really dark days.

We've got an owner ripping us of our identity and doesn't care.

I'm still shocked Chrissy is gone. It's really wrong!

I'm an irregular poster but read the forum daily. I just don't feel the need to post on loads of topics.

There are some people who haven't been on in a while but they should still be able to express their opinion... That's the beautiful thing about freedom of speech in this country.

Yeah, I was - a reserve Floyd who stood in a couple of times and did a TV programme during the 99/2000 season when the regular Floyd was unavailable, much to the hilarity of the missus and embarrassment of my kids.
