Probably too choked up I would have thought.0

The fact he didn't come over proves he knew it was his last game. It was on TV and nobody needed him breaking down in full view of the nation.4

He would of been told to f*** off by fans not in the know. That was no way to end it.1

I knew something was wrong when he didn't. I'm absolutely sure he wanted too but would have broken down0

I didn't much feel like giving him a send off on Sunday so pleased he didn't as it could have been a mixed reception. But agree it is sad he has not been given a proper good bye. But hey this is Chrissy Powell maybe he will be back someday !!!!!!!!!1

I am sure Powell an the players knew before the game. The Belgian had obviously lined up the other Belgian already. Waste of money and time thanks to them.0

Without a doubt they knew imo there was a collapse from nil nil to 2 nil like I have never seen a loss of shape heart and effort there was an argument between hamer and jacko that went on for over 25 mins
Wiggins was lost in thought throughout the second half
I didn't want him to come over on sunday such was my anger at the pathetic display for 40 mins that had seen so many people make journeys and sacrifices to be there
In a way the reaction of the fans to the players was warrented and they need to know that no matter what has happened or is happening behind the scenes, 5k plus loyal honest and proper charlton fans were there for them and that we should be their focus their motivation
They shouldve made Roland have an extreemly hard decison but they never they rolled over and got lost in the moment and the behind the scenes shananagans
Maybe we ask to much of players to expect them to do that
But its done now and for that reason I am glad chris stayed away0 -
This...I was appalled by some of our "fans" on Sunday...stonewallpenalty said:He would of been told to f*** off by fans not in the know. That was no way to end it.

Emotions were high, that wasn't disappointment of the result coming out at the end of the game, that was the release of years and years of frustrations imo.
I'm gutted Powell has left without getting a send off that he deserved. I'm glad though it wasn't at the end of Sunday when no one really new, otherwise it simply wouldn't have been the send off he deserved.2 -
Why weegie were you appalled0

in all honesty, I think Powell's proper 'send off' was at the end of the QPR/Wednesday weekend. The guy knew his days were numbered and it's only his love for the club that stopped him from walking back in Jan. The way he celebrated after that brilliant weekend...he made the most of that knowing it was in all probabilities his final opportunity to celebrate with us fans. Will never forget the joy on his face at Hillsborough. To me, that was his true send off0

NLA I think you have summed it up quite well what I cant understand is if the players knew the full facts why did they not play out of their skins to prove a point for Chris . It is possible that they have been totely demotivated (if there is such a word ).0 -
Little soldier think u may be right he was a bit ott
I'll remember his swing on the cross bar for a long while to come
Cheers chris0 -

Roland stitched him up good and proper!0 -
It does make a lot more sense about what happened at bramall lane.... if Powell knew he was a gonner.
He's been treated like a c**t.0 -
I didn't comment at the time I was watching the game in Greenwich as I obviously didn't know what was coming, but did anyone notice Powell's body language in the tunnel before the team came out? He was talking to Dyer and gesticulating in a very angry way. Makes sense now. As does Jackson's very pissed-off demeanor throughout the game, even before we went behind. Again, at the time, I thought it was his game-face.0

Jacko to me had a captains role to play and in parts played it, but on a whole he looked more angst than anyone0

When will get another chance like that against a team from a lower div in a cup quarter final . One game where the preparation and attitude of the players had to be spot on. And what do we get total shambles going on behind the scenes.Dont think any manager can operate properly with interference. Glad CP never came over.0

Very sad all this. I don't think I've ever felt so sad about something to do with Charlton Athletic. Many, many other emotions but not the sadness that I'm feeling now.0

I thought Morro looked really upset & angry too in 2nd half, something was def said either before the game or at half time, the way Hamer punched the crossbar after the 2nd goal aswell, just sad we couldn't say goodbye & thank you to a top top fella but as others have said I reckon he will be back one day0
