im done with this

i have been so positive despite all the crap this season. i am far from lightweight since i have seen two relegation, 6 manager sackings, financial meltdown twice, many of my favourite players gone because we couldn't keep them. but up until now i have not been that sad with charlton. chris powell going just breaks me. ive had enough, will probbaly just go out on wednesday and protest. i honestly feel dread. worst feeling yet for charlton. it all came so unexpected as well. we had a positive press conference not once but twice with the owner and manager and also he literally signed a new deal less than a week ago. wtf. i do not like charlton as much as i did before. btw, i dont really care if you guys think different, not going to change me, i am so pissed off.

  • 'he literally signed a new deal less than a week ago'?

no he didn't. terms, ie money, were agreed but discussions were ongoing regarding football issues. they obviously were not resolved so CP has gone. nothing was signed.
  • JM pal your passion for us is undoubted, but you will soon feel better, don't let the btsds grind you down football is a release as a past time ,
  • When you've stared liquidation of your club in the face, at that point you're allowed a little wobble.
Most of my 30 odd years supporting this club have been crap. The premier years were just a tease.
  • Exactly the same as I feel JMF. Just seems like there's nothing left of the club that I started supporting.
  • Know how you feel JMF and as posted on another thread its like saying
    .... Goodbye to CAF....as a Club
And Hallo to CAF ..... as a Business : (

But I'm sure give me a few days and I will be back supporting the Addicks as I have throughout my life.
  • In 20 years time Two Sheds will be just a part of Charlton history, like Hulyer, John Sunley, Glicksten etc. We support Charlton the club, not the owners. CP will still be a Charlton legend like Firmani still is, despite being sacked as manager. Charlton will still be selling their best players and be hopeless in the cup. Life goes on, round and round in circles, a few good times, but far more bad. Just support the badge and forget about the personnel, that way it doesn't hurt nearly as bad. The whole game these days is just about money, greed rules, there is no place for loyalty anymore, except from us fans.
  • There will be a statue of Chrissy outside the ground one day. He isn't just a legend but a Grade A legend. Who knows, when Roland realises his plan won't work in England, we might even have a chance of getting him back.

Seriously? Curbs would be way before him to have a statue come one he did well but not great.

I would not mind seeing him back at some point down the line.
  • Curbs will have a stand named after him - he built the ground and I know he is proud of that - that is the fitting memorial for him.

  • I feel so disillusioned with football! I struggle to think of another business model where the customers (supporters) are so irrelevant. Football sold its soul a long time ago and what we want/care about/enjoy is less than 1% of the equation. Why and how have we allowed our great footballing clubs to fall into the hands of greedy egotists? The German approach is much better but with the greed of the Premier League and the weakness of the FA, it will never happen here.
I don't want to be part of Duchatelat's experiment.
