Players

Been looking over Twitter and I can't see any comments regarding the sacking from any of our players. Our players with Twitter accounts are usually on there a fair bit, and given that I assume most of them are quite found of Chris Powell it's lead me to wonder if they have been told to keep quiet by the hierarchy. Clearly I am bored at work today :)

Comments

  • Probably didn't need to be told to keep quiet.

The players must be smart enough to realise a message in support of Powell/against RD would kill their Charlton career for the rest of the season.
  • Bosses come and go in all industries. Workers usually tread softly softly when the new boss comes in.
I'd be surprised if any of our players were to say anything controversial right now or too supportive of the old regime.
  • The first team squad were all training until 1.00pm this afternoon, session taken by Damian Matthew with Jose Riga on the touchline. After training, most of the players wandered over to watch the U-21 game v QPR, and many were chatting with other spectators/visitors while the coaching staff retired to the pavilion. You really wouldn't expect anyone to make public comments about the situation.
  • sky reported staff been instructed to make no comments at this time. I spoke to Pritchard - see on under 21 thread today.
  • I do wonder what JJ makes of today's events.
  • I hope the players are thinking about and training towards playing winning football no matter who is the manager .. THAT is what they are well paid to do

Diego Poyet favourited a tweet by Paul Hayes that discussed the harshness of the sacking.
  • Archie Edwards retweeted a couple of Joey Barton's tweets.
