Just back from the training ground, having fended off Gary Cotterill (SSN) at the gate:)
The new manager, his assistant and A.N. Other were present and watched the first 30 mins of the game and disappeared. As I arrived a full scale 11 a side was taking place on the lower pitch, which I observed from the pot holed car park. Looks like Sponge Foot and Reza upfront tomorrow.
When they had finished training I had a brief chat with Bradley Pritchard. He said he was in the squad for tomorrow and that he only knew about Powell going when he arrived this morning. I had specifically asked if the players knew on Sunday, but he said they didn't. He said they had all met with the new manager and he spoke good english.
Whilst watching the U21 match Hamer, Green, Harriot and SodAll sat by me. I tried to ear wig but they were not saying much. Jackson, Hughes, Wiggins and Wood chatted to some fans and to be honest with the laughing and joking going on you would not have known Powell had left!!
Other people present were former Hammers favourite Pat Holland, Scott Fitzgerald and Neil Harris from the scum and Jon Fortune, who seems to have a season ticket at the training ground.
As regards the match, QPR were by far the better and physically stronger team and should have won. Luke Young and Zamora were the well known names in their team and I feel Young could do a job for us which would mean we could push Wilson into midfield.
A great goal by their number 4, Connor Mitchell, was cancelled out by a header in the second half from Jack Munns, from a good cross from Polish Pete. Munns carried the fight in the second half and was the stand out player, although Lennon and Cort did well. Cort was replaced on the hour by Feely. Hollands looked over weight and off the pace.
Polish Pete is not as advanced development wise as Smith was. If we really did pay £600k for him, then we have been well and truly robbed. Koc is cock as well sadly imo.
Went to the training ground to watch the U21s, ran the gauntlet of Sky sports chaps. The first Team were training when I arrived and the new bosses were watching from the sidelines. It looked as if Damien Matthew was taking training. When the training was finished the new bosses came to watch the U21s for a while. The lady that takes the official photographs got their permission to take a snap in their Charlton gear, which she hopes to sell on to a National. The game was decent with QPR having Luke Young and Bobby Zamora in their team. Polish Pete was very disappointing and looks no better than Michael Smith. Anil KOC is no better than what we already have in our Academy. It was good to have Leon Cort playing and he lasted sixty minutes. He looked a bit slow but with a bit more match practice his sharpness will return. Good goal from Jack Munns who along with Harry Gerard looked the best players. Pretty solid at the back with Harry Lennon and Morgan Fox. Jordan Cook hardly got into the game, Danny Hollands was his usual dependable self.
Ps an official from the Club told me that the potential new coach and his partner had not signed a contract yet.
Forgot to say that Solly and Gower were running together, away from the other players. Looked very light jogging in truth so not likely to be back anytime soon:(

An insightful and entertaining report. Thanks, BB.

Ahearne-Grant has come closest for Charlton. His effort was cleared off the line.
Jack Munns with a header (55 mins).
Leon Cort heads against the bar. Polish Pete puts the rebound over.
There's about 15 minutes left in Cardiff. Still 0-0.
Charlton created a few opportunities in the second half, but couldn't make the breakthrough.
That's it. Hopefully bolloxbolder will give us a bit more info on the U21's game and the general feeling around the training ground this afternoon.
