The post-match hours on here yesterday were truly venomous. By way of an antidote, some light-hearted thoughts to start the week.
1 - the heart-warming comments of Magic 1889 and Hallamshire. In all my years I've never had an Official Second Team before but would SUFC now kindly arise and consider thisens duly appointed. (Sorry, Pigster, but in any case you're now already deemed an honorary Addick.)
2 - Yesterday I met Katrien Meire. I think I'm in love.
3 - JJ's fan tweets. Absolutely brilliant - maybe to please the fans, maybe to exorcise some of his own demons, but what does it matter ? He obviously cares enough. He is not a flamboyant guy - in his post-playing career I can see him being the new Keith Peacock, hopefully with us.
4 - RD wants another club (Bari, in Italy). Never satisfied, eh? And what next for his Confederation (aka UEFA Lite) ? The unorthodox, er, unconventional, er, oh all right then, the eccentric RD takes as its physical embodiment the Atomium in Brussels (this is not widely known, maybe because I just made it up}.
5 - Charlton Upbeats. Not especially topical but while I am in a good mood I cannot help but think back to that exhilarating half-time appearance in the Derby match, enhanced by the most generous applause of the visiting fans. And also, of course, the joint appearance the other week with their QPR counterparts. So uplifting.
So there you are. Our club and our season lie in tatters, but there is always something positive to be found. Any more ideas ? And before I am accused of frivolity I know how perilous our situation is but I have seen many relegation battles over the years (seven of them unsuccessful, btw) and if we cheat the drop in 2014 we're still on borrowed time without a drastic summer rebuilding on the lines of 2011.
Oh, and as a final positive thought - on Friday I renewed my ST for 2014/2015. UTA !!

Not only did we get knocked out by a league 1 side
Millwall,Yeovil,Doncaster and Barnsley all won dumping us bottom
Now with a mountin to climb
Ah well it's ok it Monday and another week begins!
But we go again on Wednesday, 3 fixtures in the next week which will go a big way in deciding what league we're in. Time for us to play positive football and not sit back and hope we nick a goal.
May not be so bad after all.
I was also impressed with the Sheff Utd fans as well - and I want them to win the FA cup.
