Looking at a number of posts today and over the last 3 or 4 weeks, I do not understand the ‘outrage’ that a number of supporters seem to have with the new board.
Yes, the takeover rumours continued over many months and there was a lot of frustration (justified) with the former board and questions raised as to the intention of potential new owners (ground move, change of manager, etc) but there is no reason ... at this stage ... to continue that frustration against the new owners.
It’s almost as if a cadre of fans want something to go wrong so that we can ‘re-mobilise’ as we did ... to great effect ... many years ago. At this stage, there is no evidence that we have a need to do so.
I know many fans do not agree with me but I believe that a new model is being built by Duchatelet that has a reasonable chance of success. Some appear to have already made their minds up and expect it to fail.
Fine, that’s your choice ... from my perspective, I see progress and a lot of potential and I see no need to snipe at the club for perceived unjustified injustices.

Perhaps. But if the plan is to keep wages to a limit - not necessarily a bad thing, in my opinion - what realistic chance do we have of holding on to those players who excel and who will be courted by other clubs? I can only see a situation whereby our better players are developed and they either choose to leave, or are sold. That could certainly be sustainable, financially, but it doesn't do much for a settled side. Ins and outs aplenty and, I fear, a loss of identity.
Well, yes, that would put us in another place. But if not? Revolving door, I fear. I'm not having a snipe, for who knows what will happen. I'm merely voicing my concerns.
As ever, we shall see...
This money can then be reinvested to build a stronger squad.
However, what we don't know is if Roland will just keep a large share of the transfer money or reinvest it into another one of his clubs. Its a time of uncertainty so some will be pessimistic, others will look on the bright side.
From an admin and off field management perspective its early days, the new regime has not covered itself in glory with some of the communications such as cancellations, however the club has been run into the ground and we are in unusual circumstances ... multiple postponements, a prospective and realistic chance of a semi final. However, we also see them receiving stick unjustifiably, from a few, ... free / subsidised travel, kick off times, youth player contracts.
Folks its early days, the first real time to judge is end of season, then beginning of the next season and then on going .. like the team is only as good as its last result so too the ownership its last action. Along the way there will be some wins and some losses, as with any club, the real judgement will come from the balanceof wins against losses over time not a couple of months.
The direction of travel for our club has clearly shifted and, as Airman intimates, what we see and feel as symptoms will be addressed over time.
Perhaps some can offer guidance And there will surely be different interpretations of results, performances and player signings / releases...
Lot of football to be played and I for one am looking forward to it!
The major issue is that we can now breath a very long sigh of relief that Administration is no longer a real threat. On the financial side we have a model that will potentially see the club being stable with a FFP friendly business model.
It should be noted that a number of high spending and indebted championship clubs are trying to take legal action against the football league in terms of the large penalties they could face under the FFP rules. If the penalties are issued this could see the likes of Bolton Blackburn Blackpool QPR are being threatened by insolvency and administration which would see them potentially slide down the divisions.
So in context C a FC are in a relatively good space and the squad of players appear motivated and for us fans the inclusion of four or five Academy graduates is a real thumbs up!
So I'm not at all disappointed by the early start made by the current owners and who knows there could be some truth in the rumour that they could become part of a joint-venture as the year progresses.
Some times short term plans are as important as long term ones and can save millions.
