I am a Charlton fan who moved from Thamesmead at the age of 10 and now live in the southend area. As soon as I got to about 14 I started to go to the valley on my own on the train and the first thing I bought from my first ever months wages was a CAFC season with this being the first year in 5 years that I have not got one although am getting one for next year. I would really like to go to more away games but with being the only CAFC fan I know it does put you off travelling on a club coach on your own for hours.
I not to sure if this has been mentioned before but would anyone be interested if something was arranged for a sort of Charlton life group for a couple of away games next year. hire a minibus/coach at split cost so that people get to travel and enjoy the away day with like minded CAFC Fans, also it may work out cheaper for train journeys for group bookings.
anyway just an idea .. any thoughts?

Were going to consider trying to arrange group train travel like what Syd Cheesewright operates now so that like-minded people can get together easier. As with everything, its going to need someone prepared to take on the main organising, but i know there are plenty of others like myself who would happily provide support. And it certainly wouldn't be a 'closed shop' restricted to people off here.
If anyone is keen to get involved, please send me a whisper.

(Oggy - You could be on a good earner if you brought loads of pasties to the pub!)
Hi Solidgone, you want me to bring you up a sackload of oggies?
They might be a bit sweaty after a loooong journey, but they probably taste better that way.
