The game at Anfield was a midweek game , I remember being there and it being a lot emptier than the previous year in the away end (new ground syndrome the previous season), some thing's never change I'm trying to recall events but I think Colin Walsh and Garth Crooks may have scored for us , I'm pretty sure they were spectacular goals or maybe Crooks had a long range special that hit the bar that day or Walshie got two....someone else might remember , I wasn't on my own in the away end ! Alan Hansen scored a goal for Liverpool first in ages I think for him
Edit found a link with Liverpool line up and scores but not ours

I was there too. We went 1 0 and 2 1 up through Walsh and crooks, from long range from memory. Liverpool were awarded a pen straight after one if our goals (the 2nd Think) A cracking game.
Great picture of the Valley early 60s. My dad used to take me back then and we always stood in that little enclosure this (south) side of the main stand. We lived in the flats at the bottom of Victoria Way in those days, next to the RoD. I remember that winter very well, ice on the inside of bedroom windows and needed several blankets and an eiderdown. Brrrrr!
