Look on the dry side

If it is true that the Barnsley game is replaced by the FA Cup match then there are a few positives if it is agreed that Championship survival is better than a Cup run, and we might get both.
The earliest we could now play Barnsley is 4th March which gives time for Hamer and Wiggins to be fit and possibly Solly as well. It also gives the current squad 3 more games together and more time for any new loanees to arrive and get acquainted. Plus if the weather improves it gives our pitch some time to improve as well.

  • Think we'll def need a couple more "incomings", Lancs , with 2 games pw between now and the end of the season.
  • If they aren't experienced in the Championship or ATLEAST league one then we don't need anyone, inexperience and lack of team chemistry between the squad will be our downfall. The other 23 Championship teams we're pitting up against are full of experience
  • I'm not sure that a two-week break is beneficial - we need match-sharpness and momentum. Two games a week towards the end of the season may be too much for players coming back from injury. I fear that through inactivity we'll be left behind.
  • Nah, it's a bad deal for us. As bolloxbilder noted in another thread, the Barnsley postponement means that in all likelihood it's three league games until we play one we are likely to have a chance of winning - QPR and Leicester are now next up - by which time we could be a long way behind with all the pressure on. We need to hope that Millwall lose every game to keep them remotely in our sights. We also missed the chance today to let some if our new signings gel in a competitive if ultimately meaningless game.

Having said all that well probably beat QPR and Leicester knowing us!
