player of the season v.2 - post cull

The last thread had it fairly even between Yann and Stephens, now they are departed I guess it could be anyones. Cousins or maybe one of the newbies to pull something out of the bag?

  • Wilson for me
  • Shawn Wright-Phillips
  • Cousins must be favourite all things considered. But up for grabs in the next few weeks.
  • Not saying that it would happen, but would it be possible for the POTS to be a player who has left the club before completing the whole of the season?

Possibly Wilson, but still a few weeks to go
  • I'm still hoping that Chris Solly will bag a hatrick of POTYs.

    Need him back asap.

  • Despite injuries I'd go for Wiggins
  • Reckon Poyet could be a late contender for this. Really impressed with him on Saturday. Of the full season regulars, Wiggins or Wilson or Cousins I suppose. None of them have blown me away though.

Would be nice for Wilson to win it, especially after hearing about him being upset at the song about him. He has also been solid cover for solly and was excellent against brighton which shows why he should be playing right midfield !

Or even reza or Piotr if either of them could fire us to safety.
  • Cousins is the only one who stands out.
Wiggins would've been in with a shout but not played enough. No one else has been great.
Will hopefully be someone who steers us to safety with solid, consistent performances

  • Cousins
    Morrison
    Wilson

Not sure what order yet, but would be shocked if it is not one of those three.
  • I'll be voting for Wilson. He's come through a period of being quite unpopular better than most players I have seen.
  • Wilson for me, would love to see him score a few more before the end of the season
  • Cousins at the moment but if Wilson gets more game time at right mid he might nick it

Wilson's solid enough at RB - but we've really missed the drive he can add to midfield at RM.

    Deserves recognition from supporters.

  • Pritchard. No doubt.
  • Whoever scores the winner on the last day of the season to keep us up.
  • Whoever scores the winner on the last day of the season to keep us up.

    Too late though !

Votes will have been taken & counted by then...

  • Cousins who just shades Wilson at this moment in time.

Who knows maybe AA could inject plenty of flair and become a contender, looked gutted enough on Saturday to become a fans favorite.

  • Going by the over the top (IMO) amount of love I could see Yann winning it, and maybe next seasons too
  • Until he got sold, Dale Stephens was by far and away our stand out performer. If no one exceeds that then him...
  • This could be the weakest PotV award ever.

Who got it when we last got relegated ? Semedo ?
  • wilson? lol!

    cousins by a country mile
  • Based on the season so far, none of them deserve a Poty award.
  • of those who have played in at least 15 Championship games the leaders in the average marks given by Lifers are:

    Wood 6.63
    Cousins 6.61
    Wiggins 6.48
    Morrison 6.43

No one stands out. Very poor season.

There is a chance for a late run from someone to rescue us but at the moment Wilson.

He has done well but to be saying player of the year is so depressing.
  • Its definitely the weakest POTY since 2007 when Matt Holland won it simply for being a good pro, but not really doing anything.

But then again thats what happens when you sell your best two performers.
  • Have to admit I'm quite stumped now at who Player of the Year could be after Stephens left... One of Wilson / Wiggins will get it for me...

Wood would be a big possibility but has been injured a lot - He's definitely been the signing of the season
