This Tuesday Evening's Games

See the majority of the teams are playing tomorrow evening, why aren't we?

  • I was wondering about that, though there are 6 games on tomorrow, so only half the division are playing.
As Millwall are playing tomorrow and Saturday, they'll have played 3 more league games than us by Saturday evening!
It's slightly tricky knowing what results to want, as they're playing Yeovil and Bolton, and we probably don't want those 2 teams picking up 3 points either

    Said this to my Brother
Bournemouth not playing either why was the game not scheduled for tuesday night
  • I guess because the FA Youth Cup tie had to be scheduled at the Valley at some point
  • if we realistically see ourselves staying up we need to win games, so wed rather teams below us gain on us that those ahead get further ahead. As ive mentioned on the other thread, we would have played 2/3 less than nearly every team around us come 5pm after QPR, by that time if results dont go well we could be 8 of safety with three games in hand if bolton milwall and doncaster get 2/3wins each.
  • Reckon it's to do with state of pitch, trying to delay home games until it has had time to recover

I think its better either they are all draws or the teams above us lose - we have to go above at least one team so its probably best that Millwall & Bolton don't get too far ahead

  • Think I'm going to be a nervous wreck by 10pm tomorrow !
  • I'm hoping Millwall lose both games, two points behind with three games in hand would be very nice.

Now that's a somewhat cheerier post D rather than the many 'we're doomed captain Mainwaring' posts on here. If we do go down well so be it but no one will have dice and there are still many points to play for yet.

Very true! I have a feeling this one is going down to the wire, will defiantly make Blackpool away interesting at the end of the season.

  • all the teams around us will drop points, surely the most important thing is just trying to get the win which can kickstart a run like last year.
  • Not wrong there D &J
  • Was just about to write - looking at that league table I think we have a good enough chance of staying up.....then I saw where Birmingham are. *slightly sick*

The problem is that Yeovil are also relegation rivals to us, and Bolton can be sucked into the battle. There's no benefit in being above Millwall if they are second from bottom and we are third from bottom!
  • Well when the dust settles after Blackpool if we haven't been good enough then we will deserve tier 3 but boy there could yet be some momentous games to enjoy between now and then!
  • Tough fixtures we've got coming up aswell not looking further then the next 3.

Next games on the 22nd home to QPR, then following Tuesday home to Barnsley, 1st March away at Leicester with no yann.

  • Barnsley is the big one hopeful of three points from that but QPR & Leicester anything would be gratefully appreciated.
  • Have to want a Yeovil win tonight. Then we're still ahead of Yeovil and only 2 points behind Millwall with 2 games in hand
  • Apparently Holloway said he wouldn't play Ed Upson (who the scum signed from Yeovil) in this fixture but the Yeovil manager slagged Upson off and said he wasn't Championship standard so Holloway is starting him !
  • Yeah I want yeovil and a burnley win tonight let's drag Bolton in this relegation battle

Plus I always want Millwall to lose 10-0 anyway!
  • IMO Yoevil and Smallwall to draw would be the best result for us, as it stands.

It keeps Yeovil below us and Millwall just 3 points ahead with our 2 games in hand and much better goal difference.

Im hoping for a Yeovil win tonight, as think they will go down anyway, only 2 points behind Millwall with two games in hand looks better to me
  • When you look at Millwall's team tonight, they have Steve Morrison, Simeon Jackson, Scott Macdonald and DJ Campbell. You would fancy a few goals there and with Holloway in charge they will go out on the attack.
  • Sheff weds 1-0 down and Birmingham are losing
  • Weds 1-0 down
  • make that 2-0
  • make that 2-0

Hoping for a few red cards too
  • Yeovil win is better than a draw IMO

No good making sure Yeovil stay below us when we are still in the bottom 3, we have to win games to get out of this, so its important we can catch as many as possible.....Millwall, Bolton and Blackpool....hopefully
