Disappointed in lack of atmosphere today

Not as much vocal support from NU as I hoped for today. Team were trying really hard on a pudding of a pitch - felt we could have done more to encourage them and welcome the new boys. Don't think I heard VFR once?

  • Club's soul has been sucked and we are paying to watch dross, I don't blame people for not attending/singing. The club are trying too hard improving off the pitch communications etc, when in essence (I certainly, anyway) pay to watch some good football and giving a 100% performance, sing or not this team aren't going anywhere fast, except down

if you were so dissapointed why didnt you start VFR?
  • I'd have joined in, given the chance, Adam...
  • Atmosphere was dire from the first minute. Said at the time, all you could for the first half hour was the muffled buzz of people chatting. Like there was no game going on. Weird.

Not with that kind of support and positivity!

Matches are won on the grass, put the support and positivity to the team mates on the pitch and we will follow. We can't be happy clappy paying to watch this stuff, I have a 5 year season ticket and have not enjoyed many if any games this season at home, would get more enjoyment watching a Sunday League team
  • Terrible wasn't it, someone made the point during the week that we needed a Cardiff home last season atmosphere, it was nothing of the sort. I genuinely think Birmingham probably can't believe their luck today, on the pitch and in the stands we were dire.
  • I totally agree with this!! THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE OUR HOME FELT LIKE A SUNDAY MORNING PARK GAME! I don't think this is helping us at all! The team needs the twelfth man every week!!!
  • team needs to turn up-play -------------- kak of the first order for to long

ooooooooooooooooooooo dear the fans aint playing there part FFS bollox when did we last steam into a team at home.

  • I will agree to sing, if Sordell agrees to try.

Agree. I commented to my daughter that it felt like a friendly or a meaningless end of season game.

    Sadly I have to agree.
  • The whole club needs a lift, will a cup win a Wednesday do that?
  • Some Canadian women at Half-Time said to me "why do your fans not sing? The other team's fans are singing"

I find it very hard to sing when I've been kicked in the bollocks (metaphrically speaking).
  • It's the age old debate of what can be done to improve the atmosphere... The teams performance goes part of the way but even if we win, lose or draw it shouldn't matter.

Be nice to see something change for next season...
  • Spot on - I get annoyed being blamed for my lack of unbridled joy when we lose to a crap team like Birmingham!

  • I agree thought the atmosphere was not that good although improved in the second half.

  • Sorry, GH and CE but the atmosphere was rubbish from kick-off - despite us having four players making their home debuts...that is not decent support in anyone's book. Or are we so jaded that we are already resigned to relegation?
  • In fact I could add that the crowd was the equivalent of Evina / Sordell on the pitch...but thinking more about it, that's being unfair to those two players - because at least they did try.
  • that's because the team are shite. 11 goals scored at home all season, can you blame people for not being up for it?
  • Think atmosphere would improve if ppl in north upper moved downstairs!

Definitely. Create an atmosphere when we attack in the second half down that end. Get the drums going and the whole of the north lower filled. Bouncing going mental. I guarantee you we would win a lot more games. Think back to Cardiff.

  • People talk about 'atmosphere' as if it is out of our control! We create it and we just didn't do our part yesterday. Like we feed off the team's effort, they feed off our support. I was also disappointed but tried to join in with any songs being sung in the North Upper.
That's why I love away games, the CAFC crowd get behind the boys wholeheartedly and the team respond.
  • Dreadful support from the off. Thought the 'You're Shit AAAHHH' at our own keeper was unneccesary, too!

    Will need more than that.
Looking at the league table should be enough for a lift
