Whar exactly are we offering players that sends them flying elsewhere rather than play for us? Are we demanding they pay for the privelege? Lick the turnstiles clean? Be denied any contact with the ball? How many players have we been conected with since christmas who've gone elsewhere. Roly mate, change your deodorante.
No-one wants to come to Charlton. Why? Other teams in the relegation zone have managed to pull in known players of ability.
As stated above I would say one reason is because a lot of players do not want to join a relegation fight and another is because I do not really believe we have been as "interested" in a lot of the mentioned names as we are led to believe.
RD has said on many occasions including yesterday that he will not spend lots to buy his way out of trouble and he wants to promote youth.
I would not be shocked if the loan window closes and we have not done any business, I think what we have is what CP is expected to work with until the end of the season.

League One here we come then. Another decent looking midfielder out the picture. Regardless of how strongly we were linked with him, it is yet another disappointment. Fewer decent players are left available. If we do not strengthen, particularly in midfield, I can't see us staying up.
Money might well be a factor though it's surely a false economy. We can't be talking about much above £100,000 can we? That's small beer for a player who would fill the most obvious gap in the balance of the side and, potentially, help to ensure survival.
I fear another factor might be that we're not seen as an attractive place to send players. First, we don't always play them. For example, Nathan Eccleston and Jonathan Obika. Second, we don't play the kind of passing football which Premier League Managers may want their players to experience. Lee Clark, whose team at Huddersfield were a passing side, might be a more attractive proposition, for example, unpalatable as that may be.
Who knows, but it's clearly not going to be easy to strengthen.

i don't see that as being an issue in any way whatsoever. If anything, the opposite.
This isn't a case of signing a contract and tying yourself to club for 2-3 years. Its about going and getting first team football for 1-3 months. A relegation battle for a loan player may actually be more appetising than for a team cruising in mid-table, as they know they are going to be participating in important games, and have a chance of their 'name' coming out of it well if the team picks up.
Murray suggested last week of three good standard loans, with the impression they would be in the next week (and i might be wrong, but also that one was likely before last weekend). Zero has happened, and that can only be for two reasons imo:
1. We won't match what the host club want / what others are prepared to pay (a la Best who went Wednesdsay last week) 2. That the issue with the manager is more unknown in the short-term (next couple of weeks) than is being made out
I'm convinced it is 1, but whatever the reasons, we haven't got in the players / bodies that we need
the pitch is probably a problem. Why send your lad to us when it means they a) risk injury and 2) will look rubbish for every home game.
agree the pitch is a big put off and CPs future unclear may also be a factor along with our position in league, only players with big bollocks are wanted for this battle, unfortunately we let one go because we wouldnt pay the ransom, that could prove costly

But no need to worry - we'll be alright with our long-term plan, huh.
