from what I can gather they hated him there,
I remember when he took over there was a story saying he was interested in a player and never realized he was already a Newcastle player who was on loan at another club

I'm with the scapegoat for Pardew brigade (although Kinnear has not been a healthy man for a long time). The Geordie Nation were extremely angry about their Sunderland humiliation and they were calling for Pardew's head for a couple of hours after the game. Pard's will be delighted Kinnear provided the Cockney scapegoat. Mike Ashley has only survived an attempt on his life because he pours money in that hopeless cause on a par with the EU to Greece.
