It's time to be positive.

OK we lost today. But we came close to winning.
Super Marv was given a chance and scored.
Reza had a good first game and was unlucky when hitting the bar.
Poyet appears to have a great game starting his first Championship game.
We were unlucky in losing Wiggins and 2 late goals.

This was always going to be one of our toughest fixtures but we weren't hammered.

I'm sure we will build on this. COYR's.

  • i can accept that we wernt expected to win this but when you are 1-0 up with 5 mins to go its not acceptable to come away with nothing

Ask Bayern Munich (or Cardiff). It happens.
  • I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly
  • I agree too, but as I'm the fourth poster since 5.54 I guess no-one else wants to be positive today.
  • I'll be positive: a lot of good signals based on what some at the game had to say.
CP is not infallible, but does anyone seriously believe anyone else can do better with this group of players at this stage of the season?
For sure RD has made some calls that most of us disagree with, but our support for the TEAM can make a huge difference.
    Keep the faith
  • We will stay up, we have enough about us and we all know Chris can get the players motivated. Fans need to play their part in the stands though.

Go back to your manager love in
  • I think we should be careful what we wish for. Sacking him could bring in some nobody from abroad who wouldn't do a nice job. Back him with money and watch him fly.

But it has had 11 likes, so there a number of people who agree with you even if they don't feel they can add anything to what you've said.

  • I have stayed positive since the start of the takeover and will stay positive until either CP is sacked and/or relegation is confirmed. We are in February. There's a big chunk of the season left. Unfortuantely today was not our day but our day will come. It sounds like the newbies had a decent all round game, a striker scored for us and another hit the woodwork. It was never going to be our day when Wiggins went off injured on 8 minutes and then Lennon got hurt on 10.

As long as Powell is given time to sort out his new recruits then I will be happy.
  • Im confident we'll stay up... Every week its appears Wednesday / Barnsley / Millwall are playing a club around us whilst we're playing the big teams, now thats surely gonna run out for them eventually (I could be proved wrong as havent checked this) whilst we've still go all them to play again

You can't change teams so what choice do we have, I am gutted after today because I so wanted them to do well after the weeks toing and froing but it's the hope that kills you, now down the shamrock club drinking too much quickly and already were planning our trip to Sheffield in a couple if weeks for a load of us in Herts, results elsewhere helped soften the blow today but still gutted.

  • Definitely a lot of positives that people are forgetting because of the final scoreline in a game that everyone was saying we should just forget about coming close to winning.

Reza looked sharp confident and hungry, got a good feeling about him.
Poyet was composed and confident, my MOM, should definitely stay in the squad he's ready for the big leagues now.
Lennon, out of position and took some damage two minutes in but soldiered on and pulled out some great tackles as well as controlling a winger who I thought would be able to run rings around him. Especially brave of him to keep putting in brilliant sliding tackles when he hurt himself from his first one.
Nego although I thought he was gunna get thrown around in the wind he looked so lightweight made some great tackles and asserted himself upon their left back.

The support today deserves a special mention, great work by the crowd to keep the chanting going. Must've made a difference to the players on the pitch and we might need a lot of similar work in the coming months.

One of my concerns is the fixtures in March. We need to do at least OK.
  • The reds are staying up
  • You can say what you want about being positive etc and that's fine, but the fact is we are running out of games to turn the season around.
In the past 11 seasons the very minimum needed to stay up in this division has been 43 points, with an average of around 48.
So that means at least another 19 points, but probably nearer 24 still needed.
24 points is what we have already from 27 games and we need to replicate this from 19.
Overall I think our squad is weaker post transfer window.
This is why I don't feel positive. Let's hope I'm wrong.

  • I must have carmed down now coz im feeling more positive after reading player marks! happy to read that master poyet looked very carm and cool and looks very good! reza too and we have polish pete to come in!
