Current, ex Charlton players that you think would make good managers.

Who would have thought or known that when Chris Powell was wearing that no.3 shirt that he was ever going to manage Charlton. Well I guess you could tell in his playing days that he was an intelligent footballer.

1) Johnnie Jackson - A loyal player that shows passion and is a leader. If he had better natural ability and was quicker etc he would be a great player.
2) Andy Hughes - A little bit similar to the above but not quite. I think he can look at the game objectively and will at least be a decent coach in a few years.
3) Scott Parker - Football is what he's all about and he will stay on in some capacity when his playing days are over.

Quite a few of our ex's are already coaching.

Over to you.

  • Agree re JJ but think he's more likely to go into punditry. He's got a great footballing brain and looks good on tv.

I can see Yann managing. He's got the brain.

Andy Hughes will hopefully do some coaching with our kids. He has the personality for it.

Doubt Parker will do it. He's functional but I wouldn't class him as a scholar of the game
  • Beat me to it, Chizz.

    Agree about Jackson and Hughes.

Hopefully in 50 years time the Covered End will be called The Peter Parsley Stand, in honour if our record goal scorer and most successful manager.
