Excited, Nervous, Worried???

It feels very strange this morning. How are we going to do today?
I know we have lost arguably our two best players this season BUT look at the players we have signed, I know they lack experience in English football, but surely they will come without fear, really excited, and I think will breed a little 'kick up the arse' to some players we have. I am quite excited looking at the Polish lad, I think he could be a real shrewd and quality signing for us.
I think for this second half of the season we all have to give Manager, Players, and the new owner every bit of our support and I am sure we will get ourselves out of trouble.

  • I agree, I don't remember EVER feeling like this in the 40 odd years of supporting CAFC.
  • Hopeful, excited, anxious
  • "may you live in interesting times" is a Chinese curse-----but CAFC we surely do.

  • Excited. Wish I was going know. At the end of he day we are in the bottom three and been shit all season. Can't really get much worse can it. I predict a totally unexpected 2-1 away win.
  • Excited much
  • It couldnt get much worse so very excited!!

  • Nervous and intrigued would best describe my mood.

  • Excited,

    Lets be having you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • A mixture of butterflies and wanting to shit my pants
  • I'm excited, which just goes to confirm that I am an idiot who will never learn.
  • Actually less nervous than normal, because my expectation levels are so low.

I don't know what to think to be honest, I was with ooey on another thread, anything less than a 4-0 defeat and we've done well, my 17 year old thinks were nailed on to win.

Oh for the enthusiasm and optimism of youth!
  • Excited and nervous - No

    Worried - Yes

  • In my head I've written today off due to lack of time training together for the new lads, so anything will be a bonus.

However as we get nearer kick off I'm getting more confident our team of unknowns will take everyone by surprise and pull off a 3-1 away win!

  • Excited. I was worried that the previous owners were on the path to administration. I am nervous; this is a hell of a challenge for CP. Given that the new players will need time to settle in (and there is not much of that), CP and the players need to know that the fans are behind them. COYR's
  • Just hope that if we lose today the doom merchants won't have a field day.
This was always going to be one of the toughest fixtures of the season.

  • Extreamly nervous because we will either be very crap and wont gel or we will click and blow them away.

This. Very intrigued how CP will cope without his talisman and what his selection will be and how he will set them up.

Not really worried as we have a new team out that will barely know each other or have trained with each other, but hope that by next Saturday there is some progress on gelling.

  • Worried.

These lads have come to us are all young and foreign with no experience of UK football and no pedigree that I can see. Maybe potential but you name me the young, untested, foreign lads that have come to CAFC recently and done well. There must be some I guess (I don't include seasoned pros like Costa, Rommedahl), just comparable age, background...I will start off:

    Mootoo
    Racon
    Christian (Danish fella)
    Semedo
There was a young lad from Finland too?

Except maybe Racon, the others all had 'exciting' yet unproven backgrounds.

Let's hope we used up all our poor choices and have found genuine diamonds but as I posted elsewhere, if one out of Pete the Pole, Goochy, Nego and Koc make a difference it will be an improvement on previous similar signings, but unlikely to be enough.

I suppose 'doom merchants' is your tabloid way of saying people who think we might be weaker now and therefore more likely to get relegated.
Anyway, I will not be having a field day if we lose, firstly because I could never be anything other than disappointed by a defeat and secondly because only an idiot judges new players after one game.

Don't worry, they'll be plenty of those.

  • People do tend to go a bit over top win or lose, but more so when we lose.

Agree less nervous than normal as expectation levels are low. But if we score and look like winning I will be as nervous as hell. A real roller-coaster of emotions. Why do I /we put ourselves through this. I suppose that comes with supporting Charlton for fifty years.
