It's a disappointing draw, but we have to make the most of it and try to get through.
My suggestion for the club is that it should run cheap coaches in order to encourage people to travel, say £10 a head. You'd probably get about 20 coaches on that basis and potentially be able to recover the additional cost of the transport from CAFC's share of the extra ticket receipts, depending on the ticket prices. It would give the occasion a bit of momentum and it needn't cost the club anything.
Perhaps the subsidised travel could be used for a future league match instead. The team might be grateful of 3K at any away game in our quest for survival.
What is the cost of putting a coach on per head? I ran one to Cardiff for an England game and my cost worked out at about £17 a head. I'm guessing we get better rates considering the volume we use?
Alright Henry, not everything that gets written on an internet message board has to be 100% factually accurate.
Wembley doesn't count anyway, neutral venue, fans all travelling of their own accord, so that was normal numbers for such an occasion. Vale we were in form and favourites to win anyway.
If it makes you happier, taking extra fans makes no difference to the result.
No need to all shirty about it. You got it wrong, get over it.
No need to take such a condescending and rude tone Henry, it was only meant as a light hearted throw away comment.
If the club decides to take up what seems a good suggestion by Airman then that will be good news and I hope plenty of people turn out to support the team, but having been to all 4 of the previous 'operation' games (at my own cost I may add) I know they tend to be occasions filled with optimism, hope but ultimately anti-climactic disappointment. Good days out though, none-the-less.

Yeah that went well too. And our two trips to Anfield in the 90s. I prefer to remember Darren Pitcher and Ewood Park though.

Doesn't work, because the ticket receipts for League matches are not shared in the same way. Can be done, but it's a significant cost. With the cup, the away side gets 37.5% of the gross receipts (45% of the net), so there is a financial incentive to take more away fans which helps pay for the coaches.
