They have a fair old sloping pitch there, we played uphill first half. Our experienced player was Andy Hughes, they had Justin Hoyte. We has a triallist Daniel Pappoe presumably released by Chelsea playing at centre back, a big lad. No Poyet or Lennon who I presume have travelled to Huddersfield, but Dillon Phillips played, so I also presume we had the other keepers on FA Cup duty. No players from Standard Liege or elsewhere were playing. In terms of the game, we were probably 56/44 on top, with a good start and finish. We fashioned chances that only needed a nick, and IMHO we should have had a penalty in the second half. As it was, the equalising Millwall penalty against Pappoe was given in a competitive melee rather than clear cut. The Millwall bloke slammed it in Dillon no chance. Throughout the game Andy Hughes prompted and instructed in a very loud and positive way, always praising decent work, the whole team did too. Fox scored with a good looping header from wide left at a narrow angle back over the keeper with Sho-Silva in attendance, Pappoe went off injured with a decent bit of time left and Gomez came on. Gomez has some growing still to do, when his body settles he will be a physically impressive player. he was good, and one feature that stood out for me from him was his ability to pick a pass, and his general composure (OK two features!). I also thought Fox and Muldoon were good, at this level as an occasional spectator, I never see them play badly. All in all a cold and pleasant event, saw Brownie and Gritty there, and there were a few scouts, including one from Liverpool.
