Bit of a mess

We have decided we don't like sticking to fixture lists this season. we will be completley worn out by the end of the season. we are even lighter i bodies. I fully expect this match to be a warning that we need whole investment in the club. absolutley everywhere. we need some signings for sure. we need contracts signed. we need the drainage to be fixed. Right now we are in a terrible postion. only a few of the squad will be contracted to us past the summer, some of them barley even play for us. there is talk of some of our players going, even some who actually have some way to go on their contracts. now probably we will be all good in february. i said that we will be fine in the end when it comes to the takeover and we were but now we need to do so much. the fustrating thing is that if we invested i nthe summer into signing contracts, fixing drainage whic htey knew about from last season, signing a few decent not to expensive players and we would surely be contenders after finishing 9th. we could have not regressed anymore. clear lack of investment for the last 2 years. especially the last year. imagine if we didn't have powell, we would be rock bottom. hopefully we end up mid table but we have been terrible and despite recnet results picking up and yann, jackson and solly coming back we have drawn agaisnt a league two team. I never felt like this in league one but it generally feels quite depressing at the club now. hopefully it can all change quick though.

  • Jeez....and breathe.

I do love a bit of an overreaction.
  • I think you need a drink, Jack.

Or perhaps you've had a couple already?

    ;o)
  • i spose you have probably supported charlton for longer so your not as annoyed as me
  • its good too see the fire in your belly pal, but supporting this lot is a heavy heavy burden to bare, and in the end you become numb to it all, it stings but theres a lot of life ahead of you mate to experience before you get to that stage ,

good on you I say ,

This isn't even the most depressed I've felt this season. A lot of clubs have gone out of the 3rd round to lower league opposition this year and I'm quite happy that we showed a bit of character coming from 2 nil down, especially after we haven't played a match for about 2 months. We've got the new lady on board who should be sorting out the players contracts and the club has already confirmed the pitch will be taken care of, they just can't do anything until the summer.

I'm feeling a lot more positive at the moment than I have for a while.
  • Chin up, Jack.

They say it's always darkest before dawn.....

    Keep believing. lad.
  • We're gonna win the cup jack. Have no fear

The dawn is hear Fanny - just it's winter so not so bright.

Jack - you've not tasted Wrexham away in the third round 6-1 if I remember rightly!

I'm actually up for the replay because the Cup is the only fun this season...and Millwall away!

Don't get numb NLA (& Jack) just enjoy the highs and lows of following CAFC.

The worse certain players look in the next few months the less likely they get renewed. Come August there is going to be a serious squad in place!

That's the optimist in me thinking we scored! Refused to go to the league game a couple weeks later and we only lost 3-2

Tonight's finish by Kermorgant told me there's something cooking.

  • I don't care what anyone says. It's still not as bad as dagenham away the year Powell took over. and I don't think it will be for a very long time.

And we went 2-0 up (Johnny Oostergaard scoring the Welsh goal of the season)

Fr some strange reason, I went to both games.

  • Do not believe the new owner will splash the csh on new playes. At bets loan signings from one of his other football clubs.

I don't think it matters. Players will be "tied" to the organisation. Us and SL are likely to get the pick of the bunch and Le Dude will gamble on obscure signings for his lesser sides, if they work they will be shuffled up the leagues.

Oh this is nothing Jack. That's the great thing about supporting Charlton. Just when you say to yourself we have hit rock bottom they always find it within themselves to go a bit lower ;-)

    Chin up. Onwards and upwards
  • We need great players at low prices.
  • Basically, if anyone is thinking of leaving the country for a few months, this is a great time to do it.
