  • Been interesting, training with squad, already know Chris Powell, Yann and Morro.

Powell is a good coach, lots of good players in the squad, I like to play in front of the back four, feeling match-fit.

Looking forward to linking up with Yann.

Surprised that Charlton so low in division, we have a few weeks to make this better.

  • Sounds like he wants Jordan Cousins' position!
  • Sounds like he wants Jordan Cousins' position!

Certainly does. Competition will only make him better.
  • Thanks for that @stonemuse

Yeah he'll have to work hard to replace Jordan Cousins... For some reason I see him playing in Stewart's spot
  • Good to have options though eh!
  • Borussia Dortmund among others play two holding midfielders in a 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 so both could play together with Stephens one of the three and two wide players outside (Wilson and Stewart?).

But he does give us some more options as he can also play behind the strikers.

I wouldnt mind seeing this to be honest... Would be interesting

    Alnwick
    Solly - Morrison - Wood - Wiggins
    Cousins - Ajdarevic
    Wilson - Stephens - Stewart
    Kermorgant
  • Double Pivot :)
  • Chosen by Powell not imposed by RD - I rest my case...

I like that but i wouldn't have Wilson there. Harsh, but if you are going to play that i think you need an out n out right winger otherwise the middle becomes too congested.

I will not believe that until it's been confirmed by the ITKs
  • he also said he could play just behind the striker
  • Feels like we do anyway :)
  • I posted this in the other thread about him this is SCP's view as reported in today's SLP.

'He is a midfielder that can play a couple of roles'said Powell.

'He can be just off the striker as a number 10 or in front of the back four.He is a good passer of the ball-long and short-and pops up with a goal here and there.

He is very adept and comfortable in possession.I knew him when he was very young at Leicester. He went back to Sweden,he played for their Under 21's and he cost Standard Liege just under 2million euros.

He's got to get up to speed with the championship'.
  • This thread makes me happy. Been a long term admirer of 4231 - with mobile players its a 6-4
  • He sounds totally underwhelmed in the interview. Just saying
  • Have I missed something since returning from Portman Road? Thought Stewart was returning to Hull after the New Years day game - have we extended the loan or is his inclusion in a 4-2-3-1wishful thinking.

If has has returned the LM cupboard could be bare if CH still out injured and Jacko's lack of pace and Ceddy's less than impressive display at Reading. A signing is surely essential sooner rather than later unless the game on Saturday is going to be called off soon.
  • we are in the mix to sign Stewart permanently, not gone anywhere else yet.

Was everyone watching Chris on the Footballer's Football Show last night?? ;-)

I wouldn't say so. Sounds like Ajdarevic likes to sit deep and spray the ball around, whereas Cousins is used more to break up play and keep the ball moving. As has been said higher up the thread, in a midfield three with Stephens to provide a bit of drive and mobility this could be tasty. Need an out-and-out winger though

Seems brilliant idea. If Wilson doesn't suit being that far up which I'm sure he would like the freedom. We could try harriot in there.
  • How are you going to fit a bloke with an even longer name (Iranian/Dutch) into that formation?

Stewart goes on to the Bench...

EDIT (based on the below) - Stewart isnt a Charlton player lol!
