It will be very interesting to see how specific RM is able to be about his role, future plans etc. In particular, whether this signals a continuing role for him as the interface with fans or whether that will be taken over by a new Chief executive or COO.
In a usual takeover of a corporate entity there is the date of exchange of contracts (just passed) firming up the the intention to do the deal and creating binding legal relations. There is then a transitional period until a date of completion.
1. Exchange 2. Transition 3. Completion
i suspect this is what is happening here. Allows outgoing staff to handover to incomings. Also allows for a check of what was actually sold in the exchanged company sale contracts, any material discrepencies from what was promised at exchange usually remaining at the cost of the seller

That is exactly the 'issue' as I understand it, and I don't see it as a big deal. RM doesnt want to rush into a meeting with fans where too many of the answers end up as "I don't know yet"
I won't be able to attend the meeting (unless it's scheduled for the coming week). Is there any way you can have an issue raised surrounding the re-instating of an elected Supporters Director on the board. It would be a big statement from RD & RM after the last lot's seeming lack of communication and may help appease some fans beliefs that RD is content to ignore the plights and desires of fans.

Excellent point. Will the meeting with Murray be open to all Trust members?

I'll leave this for razil to confirm but my understanding is it will be RM and members of the Trust Board and Fans' Forum representatives only.
Obviously, the information gleaned from said meeting will be cascaded to supporters via the Trust website.

In that case, can those of us ineligible to attend suggest questions and points to be raised? JollyRobin poses an important question (above).
The Trust website has an email address for members and others to forward ideas and suggestions. We will be able to review these, turn it into a dialogue and then, as Fanny suggests the answers from an opening meeting can be fed back to the members and other fans. Please note that the increasing number of members of the Trust every time we engage adds weight so please join up if you support this (& other) initiatives. Also it puts money in the coffers for more IT and Trust news.
This is all good and it's no surprise that RM would agree to meet these groups now he is in a position to do so. However, despite good intentions there is always a risk with a small group of people that they then become party to information which they are asked not to pass on. This is not a Charlton specific problem but it undermines transparency.
Please note I am not saying that there is no information within a football club that needs to remain confidential or that it isn't sometimes appropriate to restrict circulation, just that this should always be the exception rather than the norm. There is a natural tendency for it to go beyond this.
I would suggest that the new board needs to hold an open meeting at The Valley before the end of the season, along the lines we did in 2011 with Slater, Chris Powell and Steve Kavanagh. Sensibly this could be done as part of the season ticket renewal offer, in order that fans can better understand what they are being asked to buy.

I tend to agree with this and when you think about it, the Trust have it in their own interests to publicise information gleaned from such meetings to show its effectiveness and thus attract more interest and eventually a higher membership.
However, before we start publicly setting parameters for this engagement I think it best that we establish what is actually on the table. I'm not saying nothing gets said but simply that we need to enter this new relationship with an open mind. And sometimes it is clear that it is more appropriate for the club to publicise certain items rather that the Trust becoming the club mouth piece.
Good we have new owners simply because of this type of opportunity - let's see how it goes.
Here's the thing. Meetings with scores of people rarely achieve much, really. They are ok at getting info out but we all have experiences of getting sidetracked down single issues. On the other hand, there's a danger of creating a small set of In The Know people whose silence can be influenced with the old 'I shouldn't really tell you this, but...'
From what I have seen of the Trust, this won't happen, but transparency is really important. Most important of all is that the Trust gets a critical mass. My concern is that people will think that there's no need, when in a way the need is greater than ever.

What's all that about Barney?

Does anybody know if RD speaks English.
Presumably, if he doesn't, this will have an impact on who eventually replaces Murray.

Just thought I'd get in first with that one today..... :-0)
