    Powell was our manager
and did alright in league 1
and towards the end of last season
but this year he was crap

He refused to adapt to a new boss
    and got sacked
so a new guy came in
got on with what he had
and showed everyone where Powell was lacking

    The end

It has a ring to it if you read it with a Flemish accent

You are right - he could have done so much better...

Agreed, he was good at that level. We aspire to higher though don't we?

At least I got him promoted from "alright" to "good"... :-)
  • Currently rolling back the years in the Mark Noble testimonial on BT sport.
  • .................scored a penalty in the penalty shoot-out !!
  • This site needs a "Chris Powell Watch" thread.

The bloke can't fart without it popping up on here.
  • Good idea I'd follow it

    Me too :-)

    Ha ha ha. Obviously not.
  • Thing is, back when this was written, just because we were on a bit of a losing streak and had no fit players and no money there were people blaming Powell (bizarre really considering they'd seen what he could do with a decent squad) and those thought times were hard and things were bad.

I bet most of those people would love to go back to then over now. At least we had a manager that cared and as a club had ambition. Now we are just a puppet theatre run by a load of clowns, no ambition and no hope.

For those out there wondering why people still love Chrissy Powell so much, it's because he represents everything that WAS good about Charlton. Heart, Passion, determination, strength and personality, as a player and as a manager, I'd have him back in a heart beat but not under this regime because HE deserves better.

Also he is just such a top geezer.
