Whats your favourite Sporting event of 2013?

Loads of candidates but for me

  • Andy Murray winning Wimbledon for me and the way he did it... was down a break of serve in both the second and third sets yet still won them

The US Open and The Ashes (home !!!)
  • On the golf theme, being a Phil Mickelson fan his win at The Open was my year's highlight. The US Open was great as well with Justin Rose, and The Masters. The PGA didn't quite have the drama but it was nice to see Jason Dufner win, it was a good year for majors.

  • Wigans goal in the FA Cup final was pretty special. Don't think I've cheered another teams goal like that before.
  • Chris Horner winning the Vuelta. Or perhaps Tony Martin's 170km lead in Stage Six:

  • Andy Murray winning Wimbledon.
  • Solheim Cup. Brilliant performance.
  • Watford v Leicester in the Play Off Semi Final. Mindblowing 30 seconds at the end.
  • Has to be Wimbledon
  • Europe winning the Mosconi cup .

Sitting in my company's box at Lords on the Sunday of the Ashes Test watching us demolish Australia. Seems a very long time ago!
  • Best - in the crowd watching England parade by with the urn shared with last game of the season against Brizzle and Powell's speech. Worst - being at Wembley watching the nigels beat Watford.
  • Solheim Cup and especially 17 years old Charley Hull in the singles against Paula Creamer

As two of the cycling one's have already been mentioned I'll chip in with a third. Riblon on Alpe D'Huez, pure passion from the Frenchman to win:

Going to Paris to camp out for 8 hours on the Champs - Elysees to get a front row view of the final stage was really special to:

    I wouldn't disagree with this.
A simply brilliant performance by Treve and a perfect ride by substitute jockey Thierry Jarnet.
Must have been a nightmare for regular jockey Frankie Dettori, injured only a few days beforehand.

Keep meaning to get to The Arc and The Grand National, but always change my mind when I start adding up the cost.

Wigan winning the Cup was dramatic and heart-warming. Don't tell me the Cup doesn't matter anymore.
  • Watching Tour de France on Mont Ventoux was exciting as hell.

  • Platonk in the village, in front of the church. Had me berret on and all sorts

Quality (just wish it was us)

I just watched that again, TWICE, and I'm just not comfortable with it.
