If you buy a kitchen from somewhere like IKEA, say, there is a long warranty on it. However if you subsequently move house you don't take the kitchen with you so can the new occupier or owner get the benefit of the warranty legally?

Only if the warranty provides 'third party rights' I'm afraid Len and if it's assigned to the new owner.
