No he's just not as good as people made him out to be, loses the ball way too often
  • Just cant get on the Bench at the moment...

He was doing some fitness running on the pitch in front of me at the Ipswich game
  • he is a young player, had a good start mow he has lost the surprise factor and its the time for the first team coaching squad to work with him and develop his game further. Young players often have secomnd season syndrome and this may be all that Harriot is suffering from.
  • Talented, but lacks awareness and often makes poor decisions. I'm sure he'll come back into the reckoning at some stage.

Important thing is that he stays positive and listens to what he's being told by CP and the coaching staff.
  • Attitude I suspect - sore a few rather odd tweets along the lines of "everyone around me seems to have turned on me" sort of thing. Its a phase Im sure he'll get over it.
  • He is also going to become a father very soon
  • needs to grow up fast then, from what I have heard he needs to put his toys in his new babies pram and man the feck up

Yep. I am not using that as an excuse I work in the same department as his girlfriend and she is due very soon. I always speak to her on a daily basis. Us Charlton fans at work have been "digging" at her for his poor performances this season. (Hence the reason I knew 2 clubs were sniffing around him in the summer) and he was waiting to see what Charlton were offering.
  • Think we will be seeing him against Derby now JJ suspended

Play Stewart on the left with Wilson on the Right and Solly back in Defence

  • Not sure Solly is quite fit enough to be put straight in, will need a few weeks of sub appearances.
  • Have no objection for Harriots being dropped if his attitude is not right. He needs not to get his head turned, knuckle down, accept the management instruction (even if you don't necessarily agree) because the team needs him. If he does that then it will help him either win contract at the club or a decent one elsewhere.

Hope Harriots makes at least the subs bench on Saturday because his pace is a threat. He needs to play on the left and not the right.

Come on Callum prove that you can work hard for the team and the supporters, and willing to concentrate on the job at hand. You could make all the difference. Everyone will support you. Sort it out mate and sort out your head. Team and the club needs you!
  • I work with a woman whose son is now at Gillingham but was in the same crop of youth players as Harriot.

I was chatting to her a couple of weeks ago and she was saying that he was trying to get a move - came from his dad apparently.

To be honest he has been guff this season and doesn't deserve a place in the team. Lacks a footballing brain imo.
  • He was one of the reasons for our run last season. He played left wing, not in the hole or on right. Has he become a bad player or is CP inheriting Curbs rifts with players? Playing has-been Hughes makes me wonder. Apart from his goal is JJ worthy of a place?
  • He's far too attack minded for this team.
  • It's all about balance and shuffling an inadequate pack for SCP.

We are simply too flaky and physically lightweight to play both Harriott and Stewart for 90 minutes. Stewart has come up with that rare commodity, goals, so gets the nod presently.

The enforced absence of Jackson might get him back on the bench. I hope so because I do think he has something to offer. I'd choose him ahead of Green myself. For a little guy he's not afraid to try and mix it physically and works harder than any winger since the John Robinson Shaun Newton days bar Wagstaff in my opinion.
  • Not sure Solly is quite fit enough to be put straight in, will need a few weeks of sub appearances.

Was absolute madness to play Solly today. Not played for three months, we are under the cosh and gets brought on!
  • He burst onto the scene of the season before last and we all got excited. I have it on very good authority that that point he thought he made it and his attitude became very poor.

Could be the same thing has happened
  • I wish CH would listen and allow management to put him straight and adjust his attitude. CH still has a lot to learn and to give still. When the squad is as thin as it is at Charlton, it needs everyone giving everything. CH's pace is needed even just as threat off the bench.

Agree with Len that it is not wise to play both Harriots and Stewarts at the same time (unless losing the game, and Solly regains full fitness / form ).

CH sort it out with the gaffer, focus and get back into the squad.

Callum is a left footed winger which makes him unique in the current squad.

As a leftie himself I know that SCP likes the balance that natural left footers give us hence why we signed Richard Wood in the summer and the way he has encouraged the devlopment of Kevin Feely,Morgan Fox and Harry Lennon.I notice that the new signing Kadell Daniel has been playing in left midfield for the Under 21's despite the initial description of him as a left back.

I feel Harriott needs genuine competition from another left footed winger and that is also why I was interested in reading Henry Irving's comments about Ryan Hall rejoining Bromley.Despite his disciplinary record Hall impressed me when I saw him a couple of times for Southend.

    Ship him out on loan.
We know he has potential but now is not the right time to be experimenting with him in our squad.
Get him out to a league 1 or league 2 side.
  • think hes just had his baby, getting congratulated on twitter, hope with that off his shoulders he can start playing better!
  • Wow he carried the baby weight well :) On his shoulders as well?
  • Cometh the hour commeth the boy man. Well done Callum.
  • I was on his back after the Barnsley game. He was excellent against Wednesday and really pleased for him tonight. Great faith put in by Jose - rewarded.
  • He was immense tonight, had the beating of the watford RB every time he went at him, both goals taken well, I could pick out negatives but who cares tonight.
  • Quality finishes.
