  • That's a very young team. 7 academy players and an U16 in the 15 man squad.
  • still 0-0? if so they've already done better than the first team.

  • A good performance considering those now on loan. Standouts were the young un's. Gomez had the ancient Alan Lee in his pockets. This boy is pure class. Phillips punched well and saved a pen. Aherne-Grant was excellent and pacy throughout. One such run by him made the goal for Daniel.

Lennon also played well. First view of Aaron Barnes and thought he struggled with the move up to u21 level.

Pig, Hughes, Jordan and Fox in attendance supporting the lads. West Ham scouts (Peter Broadbent and Pat Holland included) and Colchester scouts visible. Jon Fortune also in attendance.

    A hungover Fanny also spotted!

You seemed pretty coherent to me!

First visit to Sparrows, nice to see the first team hag around and watch the first half - group included Jacko and Solly. Found it quite difficult to judge the play from an unusual angle (ie not from Upper West - next time I'll bring some steps and watch looking down).

First look at Poyet, thought of all our players he looked the most like a professional footballer physically, but did not really push himself to get a sweat on,may really be the time for him to go out on loan.

Can't say it was the most exciting match of my life, but few charlton games are.

Wish I had known Holland was there he used to teach me to play football .... its his fault I'm crap.
