  • In reality 8-9k I reckon
  • Quality, not quantity, guys...

Well I don't think I can find the enthusiasm, so I can't disagree with that.
  • Just looking forward to being at The Valley...

make the most of it ;-)

Could this be the lowest home league crowd since the 90s?

    6370. Barnsley 3/4/93
  • Actual crowd tonight will be nearer 10,000 leaving our new American / German / Swiss / Kuwaiti owners* wondering why they're bothering

    :)
  • I don't reckon Tone or Slate's will be there either...
  • with the train problems id imagine there will be about 300 there tonight
  • How are the SE London/NW Kent gooners gonna get to the Emirates ?
  • with the train problems id imagine there will be about 300 there tonight

Yep. I was going tonight but as I can't get there from Gravesend i'm fooked. Presume it will be the same for everyone else in surrounding areas

  • Can see a very low crowd now
  • On the bright side, queues for a pie will be short. Oh wait...
  • Can see a very low crowd now

Not surprised at 6.07, I'm not leaving for another 15 mins :0)
  • As a season ticket holder I am gutted that I won't be able to attend but will have to listen to the delightful Emma on Player. Only consolation is that the thermometer by the Florida pool is showing 83degrees
  • We would have been there. Not now due to transport problems.
  • North lower is so dead I can get on the internet.
  • Official attendance 14,140
  • Official attendance 14,140

Less than 10k in reality. No wonder they didn't announce it.
  • 14,274

    14,140. Where's my prize??
  • Longest queue for a half time point ever in North upper. Gave up.

  • Was empty, think they all mistakenly went to the new ground
  • Agreed - I thought there was a shade under 10,000 in the ground. I suspect that at least 1,500 or 2,000 were snookered by the train delays and cancellations.
  • Longest queue for a half time point ever in North upper. Gave up.

Same in the North lower. There must be some law of physics in operation at the Valley. The speed of service at the bar is indirectionally proportional to the size of the crowd.
  • I wouldn't be surprised if the turnstile count was under 9,000 - loads of empty seats in the north upper, which is usually the most packed.

I think the trains probably kept a couple of thousand away - I know of several who were stranded and gave up. Then you probably have people who couldn't get home from work in order to come back by car, etc.

That's probably due to the idiots that they employ.

Me: can I have a Bovril and a Kit Kat?
    Him: A Bovril?
    Me: Yes, a Bovril.
    Him: Is that a beer?
    Me: No, a Bovril.

Guy next to him points out the error of his ways. He eventually finds the Bovril cups before coming back.

Him: What else was it you wanted?
  • 517 Donny......?

The poor guy was in shock! As would I be, Bovril and chocolate!!! OMG
  • The trains were up the spout. Went to Cahring cross from work and no trains so had to get a bus - and was late. Didn't miss our goal though :)
