This is my one stop place for all things Charlton takeover related. As much as it is difficult sometimes to pick the peanut from the poo here, with petty squabblings and meanderings off of topic, keep it coming Lifers...
Guys and Fellow Addicks..my first match FA Cup winners 47 and live in the Town of great Sam B resting place, ..been around a bit and back..it would cost a fortune to knock down all that concrete of our Valley...after all the battles to get back to The Valley...please friends ..never leave our beloved Valley. Property Developers are after one thing....our jewel in our crown Greenwich Borough and 35 Acres of Plum developing ground at Sparrows Lane...Why can't teams use their ground facilities at their Stadiums ..academies too... Dozens of roads and many hundreds of flats and houses could be and some time in the future may well be built in SE9 ...probably worth half a billion..... No to property developers....Its more likely a planted rumour to see what you all think by the current owners and not one of you have seen through it. South London Press were used back in the fifties by the worse owner Dad Glikstein. Believe me, the rear of the east stand was much bigger than you think back in 1950..The cul de sac of houses and a detached house all land owned by Charlton was sold by him. Richard Murray, Michael Grade, Varney....should have thought of this years ago...we are rich really, never been utilised properly. DelBoy

I've decided not to click back on this thread till 31st December. That was the day we were last taken over and so am guessing that's when it will happen again!
If by chance something of interest does come up on this thread can someone "inbox me babes" to alert me. Thank you.

Keep thinking exactly the same thing...then I notice something has been added to the thread and can't resist clicking...more in hope than belief its actually something positive or even relevant!

I did that too, and it was just your 'can't resist clicking' post about irrelevant posts! You've exacerbated the problem! You wouldn't catch me doing that.

As Henry said, she is definitely ITK, there is a clue in the 'Inbox me babes' phrase, just can't work it out? Mothercare? or is it a double entendre or euphenism I have not come across before? it sounds dodgy.
We need to keep this thread going until it happens - it will then stand as a monument to hope!
In that vein, another thing that needs to be considered is how much it costs to run the club month by month. The selling price won't be higher in 6 months, but it will cost the current owners 6 months of dosh if it takes that long. So I would have thought there is a pressure on them to sell as soon as they think they can.
The Millwall game in September is the only Charlton game that I've watched live in the past six years. You probably have no idea how much I've missed watching us on TV (or the net) ever since 2007....Two weeks ago I watched the Merseyside derby and it was one of the most entertaining games I had watched for a long time. But the buzzing feeling only lasted ten minutes when the game ended - after all,I was just a 'neutral spectator'.By the time I was in bed,all I was thinking was 'when will I see US back in the Premiership?'.Nowadays almost every Premier game can be found live online and if we got promoted,I'd be able to watch us play,EVERY WEEK.Maybe someone would argue that it wouldn't feel any better if we got promoted and then were losing week after week. But as a Charlton fan who lives in a country so far away,I'd always prefer Premier League over Championship because at least I would get to watch almost every Charlton game - nothing would beat that. And it is one of the main reasons why I've been praying that this takeover would go through as soon as possible.I know a takeover doesn't automatically mean promotion but with the current owners,I really don't know what I can hope for.I've been slightly out of touch and only recently learned what happened to Portsmouth.I read it on Wiki and thought 'thankfully I'm not a Pompey fan.....' I'm not sure if it's right to say 'it could've happened to us' but I truly hope we'll soon reach the stage where we never have to have that kind of fear.
Fingers crossed the deal will be completed before the January window opens....
(And I'll still keep checking this thread because it's obviously the only place where I can find the latest news regarding the takeover.Even a bit of information about the cars in Harvey Gardens every now and then is uplifting....lol)

Today's Harvey Gardens German motors survey, at around 13.45 (so maybe some lunch-time absentees) :
1 Merc 4 Beamers 2 Audis (including an A6).
Only because it is the only nationality not mentioned so far.
Have you heard the one about the dodgy car salesman driving a clapped out Jaguar off a cliff while trying to sell it to bewildered onlookers??

Oh, hang on...
:-)
a) something might actually have happened
b) I'll be pushing 80 years old by then and won't give a flying pig about any of it.
