Parked next to Keith Peacock at Albany park a few years ago on the day it was announced he was going to west ham. Had a quick chat with him which got stopped short as his mobile went off, told me he'd better answer it as it was curbs.
Let Iain Dowie and his fat assistant John Harbin cross the road in front of me at the Welling pre-season match in 2006. Little did I know at the time that all it would have taken to preserve our Premier League status was my foot slipping on the accelerator.
Finished work at The Valley after a game, using cash machine, SCP pulls up, asked where I was going. Only The Oak I told him, so he said jump in. Got to pub, pulled over on Pound Park side, went to get out, could not open door. Oh sh+t he said realising the child locks were on. As traffic was heavy down Charlton Lane his mate in the passenger seat could not get out to let me out, himself had to do the honours. Nice day, lots of people outside pub to see my chauffeur drop me off! Took it in great humour as you would expect, looks of disbelief were hysterical:)

Walking along by Windsor Great Park with the M-I-L, Wife and son (who was only 3 at the time). He went running off as they do and there was a car chugging along through the park on the internal road. Shocked me a bit as you dont normally get cars on that road, but it was disappearing into a gate into the castle grounds. Called my son to get off the road as he was holding up the car. Old lady smiled at my boy and gave him a wave, rolling down the window and saying 'Thank you young man!'.
I let a player out into traffic after a game once. He must have left the ground literally straight away! Lovely Merc he had. He didnt say thanks either the pratt

Just remembered that me and my mate bunked off school when we signed simonsen to watch the team train at new eltham. Just before it was due to start, Terry Bullavant told us that it had been switched to the valley. He gave us a lift in his yellow Datsun cherry.
When Bob Stokoe was manager in the 60's and lived in a club house in Danson Road, he saw me waiting at a bus stop one Saturday, in Welling, with my Charlton scarf and hat on and stopped and gave me a lift to the ground!

Not Charlton but someone I worked with was the son of a diplomat working in Rome in the 50s. When they opened a new motorway they asked Fangio to be the first person to drive it in a sports car. He took my friend, then a small boy, as his passenger.
He has no interest in motor racing but always tells this story to impress those that are. It always works
Driving down Copers Cope Road in Beckenham once upon a time .. a spanking new top series BMW cut right across me turning right into the Crystal Palace training ground forcing me to come almost to a halt ..the pleasant chappie who was driving, smirked and made a 'sorry' gesture/shrug to which I responded with a mouthed 'fucking idiot' and the central finger, left hand gesture .. Mr Dowie .. I have not forgotten you and did not forgive you even when you became our manager shortly thereafter
When i lived in Scotland in the 80's, I went to Aberdeen for the day with the ex. We drove up the main road though the city centre and pulled up at some lights. A car drew up next to me and i looked across as it had writing all over it, and it was Alex Mcleish who was Aberdeen's centre half at the time.
He waved to me and let me go ahead of him as the road filtered into a single lane....
