Just 18 months of this coalition Government left now.

Soldier cheated out of his pension
800 years of shipbuilding tradition ended at Pompey
    Bedroom tax
    Energy costs soaring
High Speed trains that nobody wants
Trains that we do want, cancelled due to leaves
    Charlton in the second tier
Cops lying to get politicians sacked
Politicians lying about moats and duck houses
    Judges resigning from X Factor
Estimated population of the UK in 2027 = 70 million (up 10% on today)

    :)

some little obsequious wanker of a defence ministry clerk has sat down and worked out the ways to save the maximum by making soldier's redundant close to their pensionable age .. this is not an isolated case and shows the disrespect and contempt with which the 'ruling classes' view their 'subjects', both military and civilian .. may the deadly pox visit all their palaces, stately homes and houses

This is a disgraceful practice, and happens in all industries - it isn't only confined to the armed forces. Its absolutely disgusting that there isn't legislation against it.

He's getting paid in full, rightly so.

On Monday I started a petition for my husband to receive his full military pension and last night I found out he will.

After months of worry it is a huge relief to finally hear my husband will receive his pension.

I first raised my fears in the media in June but it wasn't until my petition on Change.org that the Ministry of Defence said Michael's transfer request will also stall his redundancy.

The response to our petition has been fantastic and somewhat overwhelming. We are so grateful to the 100,000 people who have responded and continue to spread the word, your efforts have not been in vain and we are so grateful to you all.

We hope that others in similar situations have the courage to ask for help because with the support of Great British public, it is achievable.

Pension Justice for Troops, a group of former service men and women and their relatives, have started a new petition asking the Prime Minister to review the treatment of all soldiers made redundant within a whisper of qualifying for their petition. You can support their petition here.

    Thank you all,
    Jolene

Got the same - fantastic - what a shame they had to go through that to get what's rightfully there's but perhaps the fact they got it at all restores marginal faith in my country.

It's not an isolated incident though. I know two sergeants who have been binned months short of their 22 years. One was escorted from the building and off camp the day he was notified. Disgusting really. I was proper fed up too, as he had £140 worth of my pending expense claim paperwork in his desk drawer that was cleared out!

Great news and it was followed up by another petition for people in a similar situation.
