nice to see a footballer who still absolutely loves the game.
Defoe? He's certainly been very well paid to watch a lot of football over the last 5 or 6 years.
nice. 40 games a season not playing then no? call him a mug, say what u like but thats just not accurate. this season he hasnt played much. last 4-5 he cetainly has.
Well, you obviously are a fan. He's played about 25 to 30 league games a season, a lot of those as sub or subbed. I was being generous saying last 5 or 6 years, as he has been on a downward curve. A lot of his appearances have been in cups, too, which is a sure sign of something or other. Since he is very talented and hasn't had much in the way of injuries, I think he should be one of the first names on the team sheet, whoever the manager may be.

credit to jermaine what he said sounds plausible. Redknapps the tossa in this story. Can u blame him for wanting to train with his boyhood hero?
i think he is coming across very well.
What happened to us was gutting but was it really the fault of the 16 year old? He always gets slated but is it really deserved.
Didn't see it. What was his explanation?
basically that it enabled him to go training 10 mins from his house, dropped the burden on his mum (they seem extremely close and she was obviously a major reason for his success), and most importantly for him, he could train with his idol Ian Wright.
find that all reasonable and plausible.
there was also a strong strong hint from JD (very subtle) that he received some considerable money at the time.
u cannot blame a lad for looking after his family at that age. obv that they had very little before he made it.
harry was involved so that also sounds plausible. anything dodgy, harry`s in.
Ahem. A few years ago there was a C4 drama about a football manager. He was played by Ray Winstone. In the very first scenes we see the manager on the trail of an underage prodigy at another club. To get his mitts on him the Winstone character buys the player's Mum a house.
lol. I'm not one to go on about footballer wages, I just mean numerous large signing on fees, £10 mill on the lottery, he really doesn't need any more.
I don't get why there was a programme on him on in the first place. I get James Cracknell, and I get David Weir. I just don't get at the planning meeting how someone could say "I know, let's complete the series with Jermaine Defoe".
I think they have all bought a second hand used car off of Harry Redknapp. That was the link I think, the final program is an expose where they all pull him up over some dodgy issues with the warranty.
just caught this on ITV4.........what a w*****r. Small piece about leaving us, and he says that he is an East London lad & didn't want to spend 2 hours in the Blackwall Tunnell every day !! yeah right.

Even more rediculous was redknapps comment about 'west ham being the top east end team"' ... Don't remember us claiming to be from the east end

Now it was of course just a fictional tale...
Bullshit.
And everyone else said good idea !
I'm going home.
