At first sight that sounds the obvious solution but when you think about it if that seat belongs to another season ticket holder where does he sit then and how far around the stadium does he get shunted?

As a season ticket holder why shouldn't he be allowed to sit in his own seat that he has spent his hard earned money on?

Patently the next set along was not held by a season ticket holder which is why the two ladies ended up sitting either side of Mr plumb.

It could be that the seat was in fact held by an absent season ticket holder.

One obviously cannot tell whether or not the absent season ticket holder will remain absent until after the event.
  • I'm taking an arsenal supporting mate who wants to see what an atmosphere is like, boy is he in for a lot of disappointment!
  • I mostly attend away games so this is a good excuse to get the whole family down to the Valley, having said that we will all be going to Brum the following week as well.
  • Irrespective as to the cost of the tickets on the day in question. I would't vacate the seat that has been mine for 20 years if a complete stranger asked me to.

    Sorry but no!
  • Len, the pouiint I was making was that idf the two ladies had purchased their tickets on a football for a fiver day then they could not have been held by a season ticket holder. If on the other hand they had tickets for elsewhere in the ground but had chosen not to sit in their purchased seats and just looked for two together then I agree completely with both you and dickplumb.

The people I have had around me in the last two £5 games have been a pain in the neck. The last time these two women wanted me to move so they could talk to each other. I said no and they spent the whole match looking at their phones and talking across me.

Why not just move 1 seat along and let them sit next to each other?

Because I am a miserable, intransigent old fart. I would normally move but the way one of the women asked was more a command than a request. It put my back up so I dug in my heels.

  • Last season put me off massively, was sat North Lower next to tourists and a school trip and we were dia on the pitch. May swerve this one.
  • I am surprised that more fiver ticket purchasers don't come back regularly as they seem to be getting a really warm welcome from our fans.
  • Would just like to point an increase crowd doesn't make for better atmosphere, tbh the reason fans don't come back because the standard of football at these games is poor.

It's a great idea for the club and other club and fans pointed tht out on twitter last night along with a piss AFKA who was on fire with his football for 6 quid "poems"
