There's a few moments in British tv comedy that have nearly made me sick with laughter, Liam Neeson doing improv on life's too short is one. The episode of operation good guys with Sean Pertwee is another. That was genuinely brilliantRodneyCharltonTrotta said:
Operation Good Guys was superb. Pretty much the same cast went on to do Lovery Honour and Obey which is a cracking film.Riviera said:
Mrs Brown(e)'s and "her" derivatives have been around since the early 1990's, long before Gervais. People Like Us and Operation Good Guys were around long before The Office tooJiMMy 85 said:
It's the catchphrase comedy show that Ricky Gervais was ripping it out of in season two of Extras. Only, Extras came a few years earlier. So I can only assume someone saw the parody in Extras and thought "hell yeah, there's something in that..."bazjonster said:Anything/one associated with that shockingly dire 'Mrs Brown's Boys'. Although I'm not sure it counts as I wouldn't categorise it as comedy!!
Brian Potter getting stuck on the stairs is another one in Phoenix Nights1 -
No he must be hung like a racehorse. I've never seen him say anything remotely funny when he's been on TVguinnessaddick said:
Patrick Kielty / Cat Deeley. Make her laugh and she is yours forever. Can't think what else it is, batting well above his average.DA9 said:
He joins a long line of “comedians” who concentrate on one thing and it’s just not funnyMacronate said:He did focus predominantly on ‘race’ last night and was simply not at all funny about it.
Jo Brand - being female
Patrick Kielty - being Irish
Sarah Millican - liking cake
Julian Clary - being gay0 -
which was mostly ad-libbed, not a lot of people realise that, superb film, stil laugh at the the fake sheiks and viagra sceneRodneyCharltonTrotta said:

The more comedy you watch the harder it is to find anything original.0

Ken Dodd - was told he cries for three hours after his shows, through sheer terror/exhaustion. Most of them are manic depressives and deeply unfunny off the stage, which is a shame actually. Poor sods.0

And Mickey Flanagan is sadly deeply unfunny on and off stage...thewolfboy said:Ken Dodd - was told he cries for three hours after his shows, through sheer terror/exhaustion. Most of them are manic depressives and deeply unfunny off the stage, which is a shame actually. Poor sods.

My favorite comedians just need to turn up and like in Mozart's case, it all seem so simple...0
