It's a mans world...or maybe not.

In the last ten years, prosecutions of women for domestic violence offences have risen by 300%. It is estimated that by 2015 more women than men will be prosecuted, not only due to the ever rising level of female on male abuse, but also because of a more sympathetic attitude now taken by police and other agencies. Last year 1.6 million offences were reported, 600,000 were abused males. It is estimated that less than half of all abused men report this crime, due to the stigma attached and the ridicule of being beaten by a woman. There are 4,000 refuge places for women in the UK but only 6 for men. The saddest statistic for me is that the main reason men don't report this crime is because of the fear of losing access to their children.

You can recover from the violence but it is nigh on impossible to reconnect with your kids after ten, fifteen, twenty years.
