Excellent evening , thank you to those that organised it , even managed to drag the wife and kids along , thank you Johnnie J , Michael M & Lawrie for giving up your time.
There were a number of "old faces" there. Steve Dixon who did an excellent job as chief questioner. Steve Clarke, Craig Norris & more.
It was an excellent night & I'd like to congratulate Badger (& Nathan if he contributed behind the scenes.)
The players were all excellent & thanks to them as well.
The players commented on the great support at the Cardiff game (last season) & Forest this. They were unaware that it was due to the rumoured sacking of Powell.
Jacko & Morro have not been offered a new contract yet & have heard nothing.
Hughes & Hamer are the “jokers” & are good friends.
We “got out of jail” against Donny & whilst the pitch was very bad, it was the same for both sides.
Our porous defence at the start of the season wasn’t due to Solly carrying an injury or Wiggins not being fully recovered from his hernia op.
Megson relegated Morro to training with the kids & phoned him to tell him he had no future at Sheff W.
Kermy isn’t the best trainer. He saves his energies for match days.
Burnley are the best team we’ve played & gave us a bit of a chasing.
J. Jackson was asked who was the best player he had played with when he was at spurs and he said It was Robbie Keane, spoke about how he could make a goal from nothing, he also was asked about his Favourite ground and said it was Highbury
The goal that Jacko scored for Spurs against us was mentioned, he spoke about how he became a 1st team player at spurs but knew that realistically it wouldn't last, he also spoke about how hard it is to get into a Premier league 1st team, he did say that a youngster would have more chance of getting 1st team football at Charlton as the youth are more likely to get a game.
Jacko was also asked about his best performances and said Peterborough away ranked highly, and thought he played well against Millwall even though we lost.
The we never do well in the cup question came up and Lawrie Wilson said they would like a decent cup run, he also has played at Wembley so that was a also an incentive but said that the league was sometimes a priority.
Lawrie was also asked about his time as a youngster at the club and mentioned that although he had moved on he had no doubt in coming back to the club,, although some people say you shouldn't.
Lawrie also mentioned that when he was at Stevenage the manager Graham Westley had us cafc watched and Westley told his players that if that lot(us) got promoted he'd eat his shorts.
Wagstaff moving to B. City was a surprise but just one of those things, sometimes you have to move on to get 1st team football. Thought that might be a difficult question but it was answered frankly.
M Morrison was dumped by Megson but sounds like Morrison has a good agent and having been at Leicester obviously knew powell, said it was through powell that the move to us came about.
Have been away all day so only just had a chance to post, will post more later.
Jacko confirmed that Hughes is the Joker and sounds like a great character to have about the place.
Jacko was also asked about his role as a captain and said that he does have a close relationship with the boss and that he enjoyed the role. He also mentioned that the players do have some input regarding the opposition and that the players would put across ideas they might have but ultimately it was down to powell how the team would shape up. Was also asked if the players could hear instructions being given from the touchline and he said yes.
Each was asked about the Brum game on Saturday and they agreed that it was a poor 1st half, powell told them at halftime to keep going and a goal would come.
That's all and it was an enjoyable evening, thanks to all those who came along.
Comments
Dicko good also.
Thanks to all.
The raffle raised £104.00 which was Fantastic and the lucky Numbers were picked by a former player in attendance Keith Tucker.
Thanks for everyone who came along.
Will post more later.

A top half position would be a good achievement.
JJ, Morro and Lawrie get well soon lads...

Mind you, glad I didn't make it ...
Rumour has it that some Groupies highjacked the players so no-one else could get close.
Won't believe it though until I see the pics....
