Valley Gold - Still waiting for my winnings!

Was at the ill fated Doncaster Rovers game...waiting around at half time when I heard my name called out! I'd won £50 on Valley Gold! First time in 6-7 years. Thing is that was 24th August and I'm still waiting for the cheque! Waited a month and contacted Lisa Squires - fast response and told one of the signatories had been sick and it had now been posted. Waited 10 days - nothing....emailed again and was told another signatory had been out of the country on business! Am still waiting 7 weeks later. Now the question is - is this normal - has anyone else experienced such a long wait...? Does Jimenez hold the purse strings!

  • They're waiting for you to die as it will pay someone's wages for 2 hours!!
  • I thought that VG had different people signing the cheques? Not TJ or MS.

Think you're right - it's run as a charity so TJ/MS not involved.
  • got my cheque within 2 weeks, that was back in April.
TJ/MS not involved in any way as cafc - west says
  • Think I saw them all really pi55ed up in the VG office m8 - musta had some spare dosh for booze ;-))))
  • They put my winnings straight into my account, didn't bother with a cheque.
  • CAFC-West,

This is a very unusual problem, in fact this is the first complaint I’ve received of this kind in the ten or so years I’ve been working for Charlton Club.

I understand from Lisa that your cheque has now been signed by our signatories and should be with you shortly. I can only apologise for the delay.

    For everyone’s information:

    1. Charlton Club, the organisation responsible for Valley Gold is independent of the football club

    2. We do now pay the majority of our winners via bank transfer, which is a much speedier process
  • Hi,
Glad to hear its so unusual...seems strange both signatories were away. Anyway had a nice apology email from Lisa today saying the cheque is in the post. Won't stop me supporting Valley Gold as I do it to support the youth development rather than hoping to win anything! Wasn't asked for bank details and would have provided if I'd been asked. My little comment above about "Jimenez holding the purse strings" was meant as a bit of a joke as we all know the club is a "bit pushed" financially at the moment. Thanks for taking the time to comment though.
