Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi, Iniesta, Neuer, Lahm, Dante, Ibrahimovic, Lewandowski, Reus off the top of my head. There's 10. Add RVP too when he's not in bad form like now.
Look up how many games they concede more than 1 goal. It's a big fat 0, must be doing something right.
Not saying he's a bad player by any stretch mate. But to use your argument, Sturridge is the Premier League's top scorer. He too, must be doing something right. Doesn't mean he's anywhere near as good as Suarez though.
Besides, it's difficult to compare when they don't play in the same position.

Well people were saying he's one of the best players in the world, not really my fault most people are biased towards attacking players.
Agreed but a strikers job is to create chances as well as scoring, Suarez does both well which puts him ahead of Sturridge. Whereas a defender just has to defend.

I didn't say strikers, I said he wasn't in the top 5 players. Mainly because people were saying he was one of the greatest players in the world and claiming he was worth 150m.

Strikers, he'd probably be top 5.
Football has different players for different positions without a doubt , but let me tell u this strikers who stick the ball in the back of the net are worth more than defenders and most midfield players and personally i think suarez is a better player than bale and worth more money just my opinion and probably not yours thats fine.
luis suarez..hate him if he is oppo, love him if he is in your team.
its no defence i know, but the kid grew up a complete hood rat. i cut him some slack because he doesnt know much better, why do we expect him to observe European morals/behavior? ok, he should have learnt by now but equally he has always been forgiven for his misdemeanours due to his goals...something is not quite right there
....and YES players that are racist should be BANNED for LIFE.
Is that fair? Surely you need to explore why he'd use racial language? Is it his upbringing, his intelligence or was he simply trying to be as insulting as he could & knew full well what he was doing?
If the former, can he not be educated to change his views/opinions? If the latter, then perhaps you'd be right.

I grew up on one of the worst council estates in London. Does that indicate that I should be treated even slightly more leniently if I decide to bite someone than someone who grew up in a privileged environment?
The bloke's an arsehole - it doesn't matter where he grew up.

hi leroy
i think it does yes.
you got to understand that life in the slums in Uruguay is slightly different to SE London.
i get what you are saying...he should no better by now.
but i see 2 factors. one - when he grew up his competitive nature brought him success (including all the ugly business)
two - on adulthood, his misdemeanours were ignored due to his success. so he is he supposed to learn.
we usually agree to disagree on most things, i guess Suarez is another for the list!
spitting is not seen as that terrible in Senegal, whereas u can get shot for placing your hand on somebody`s head (ultimate gesture of rudeness so Im told).
history has shown that EHD is now fairly well respected as someone that battles and tries hard for his teams. but we all used to think he was a fruit cake.
for me, inherent codes of conduct affected by upbringing is worth a thought. of course, everyone should allways aim for a better code!
I totally get that. London is clearly not as bad as Montevideo. Still, plenty of other footballers have come from South American slums and I've yet to see one biting an opponent (twice) as well as racially abusing another and being an all-round turd as much as Suarez. Messi, for instance, grew up in a pretty shitty part of Rosario - probably on a par with Suarez's upbringing.
too true, but messi was out of that system by 11 and into la maisla.
dont get me wrong, i wouldnt have LS anywhere near SE7 even for 1000 goals a season. more important things and all that...but i do feel a bit for him..
he is obviously as thick as sheet and i see him getting mixed messages from his clubs. its all rosy again now at Scousers just caused he scored a few goals. this is the problem i see.
but its nice to disagree in such a pleasant and well mannered way!

That's definitely true. If there's one player and club who deserve each other it's those two.
For all his many faults he is in another class as a footballer. His second goal against England showed that he is almost clairvoyant, seeing in advance what will happen and thus going offside because he 'knows' at some instinctive, intuitive level that he will be played onside by a English header backwards. A rare talent. And like so many geniuses, a shit.

Don't know about clairvoyant. Claire bloody Rayner would have had a good chance of getting onto that, Cahill was so slow.

Just didn't agree that he was up there with Messi and Ronaldo.
